Michael Cole and Pat McAfee really enjoy working with each other every week for WWE RAW, and there is no debating that fact. While Cole has been immortalized in many WWE video games in his career, Pat McAfee and his crew are getting quite a controversial spotlight this year for WWE 2K24, and Cole is speaking about the backlash.

Michael Cole made a joking comment about Pat McAfee on Twitter ahead of WWE Raw, addressing the controversy surrounding WWE 2K24. Cole posted a photo of Pat McAfee and Bobby Roode on Twitter with a caption that seemed unimpressed by McAfee’s quote.

Michael Cole recently logged onto Twitter, where he took an opportunity to have a bit of fun. Bobby Roode is a backstage producer for WWE, and he’s backstage for RAW. While posing with Pat McAfee, they took a pretty great photo, one that Cole used in his tweet to take a little shot at the former NFL punter.

“I can’t believe him and his dumb group of friends are in WWE2K”

Cole was humorously addressing the fan controversy surrounding the upcoming DLC for WWE 2K24. Pat McAfee and several of his Pat McAfee Show co-hosts were released as playable characters for WWE 2K24. Each month, additional sets of playable characters are released, with the ESPN talk show crew being a theme for the July 31 release.

The playable characters include Pat McAfee, Ty Schmit, Boston Connor, AJ Hawk, and Darius Butler. The release of the Pat McAfee and Friends pack has drawn criticism from some fans, but it is not the first time WWE 2K DLC has featured celebrity guests. Last month, Post Malone was among the released playable characters available in the game. Still, some fans are not happy about the Pat McAfee Show crew taking spots in the game’s DLC lineup.

Pat McAfee and Michael Cole continue on commentary for WWE Raw as the show heads to Cleveland, Ohio, for tonight’s first of several shows in the city surrounding SummerSlam. We will have to see what the future holds for Pat McAfee and WWE, but they certainly have a great relationship at this point.

What’s your take on Pat McAfee and his crew getting spots in WWE 2K24? Do you think they could have done a better job picking people for this DLC pack? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
