CM Punk may be a shoo-in WWE Hall of Famer now, but he had to get his start somewhere. Every pro wrestler at the top of the business had to get their first reps in the ring, and the Second City Savior fondly remembers one match that has been buried for years.
Decades ago, CM Punk and Doug Delicious took on the Road Warriors in a dark match. This match was lost in time, buried in the WWE vault, and now we finally get to see it.
Dark Matches are presented only for fans who are live in the building before and after television shows. They are not taped to air on television, but everything in a WWE ring is filmed at this point. Little did fans realize that night that they were witnessing a match live that so many would want to see for years to come.
WWE uploaded a brand-new video on their YouTube page featuring CM Punk. He was very happy to present a long-lost match of his, one that a lot of fans had apparently been requesting for years. After a brief introduction, they got to the match. Punk and his partner lost that night against the Road Warriors, but it was certainly a great early match for his career.
We will have to see what CM Punk unearths for fans next. He’s getting very comfortable during this WWE run, and he is also having a great time. SummerSlam is just around the corner, and he is set to face Drew McIntyre with Seth Rollins as special guest referee.
