Chris Jericho is undoubtedly a veteran in the pro wrestling industry, whose career has spanned more than 30 years and he truly loves AEW no matter what. With that said, many people feel Jericho simply phones it in his matches now and Disco Inferno has now accused him of deliberately trying to sabotage his match on Dynamite last week.

During the July 24th edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho squared off against Minoru Suzuki in an FTW Championship match. The bout was a slow-paced, hard-hitting affair between two seasoned wrestlers. Despite Jericho successfully defending his title, the match received considerable criticism online.

While speaking on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno claimed that the match was “intentionally atrocious.” He suggested that Jericho might have set up this hard-hitting contest with Suzuki deliberately to provoke a reaction from Jim Cornette.

Inferno argued that Jericho’s performance was a strategic move to “troll” the fans. He described the match as excessively long and criticized the prolonged sequence where the two wrestlers exchanged chops for seven to eight minutes. According to Inferno, this was part of Jericho’s plan to gauge Cornette’s response and stir up controversy.

“Jericho is doing this intentionally to just troll the fans. This match was atrocious. But I think it was intentionally atrocious, and I think Jericho has literally did [sic] this match with Suzuki just to see what [Jim] Cornette would say about that, okay? Because this is hysterical, they sat there, chopped each other for literally like seven to eight minutes straight, Konnan. I mean, it was considerably long about time where all they do [sic] was (…) it didn’t (…) it didn’t look good, okay?”

Chris Jericho also recently bragged about AEW being a profitable company. Regardless, Jericho will continue to wrestle in a way he wants to and it is unlikely that will change anytime soon, regardless of what anyone says.
