WWE fans were disheartened by the recent wave of talent releases, which notably included stars like Cameron Grimes. Grimes has since made it clear that he is focused on elevating his career elsewhere if he does not return to WWE.

Cameron Grimes built a dedicated fan base in NXT with his vibrant energy and charisma, especially through his prominent feud with LA Knight. However, his move to the main roster didn’t achieve the same level of success, as he faced difficulties in securing comparable opportunities and recognition. Earlier this month, Grimes announced that he is officially a free agent.

During a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest, Cameron Grimes addressed the notion that WWE mishandled his potential on the main roster. He acknowledged that timing played a significant role, but he emphasized that the nature of the wrestling business is that it constantly evolves without an offseason.

With wrestling now featuring multiple shows each week, Lee expressed confidence that he would reappear on television eventually. He reflected on how setbacks can contribute to building a compelling story and believes that a future return will have even greater significance.

“It happens, right. A lot of it was timing, it was poor timing, but the beauty of the business is that it never ends. There’s never an offseason. There’s 52 weeks a year that there’s going to be television being produced for wrestling. It went from being two shows a week to now being five shows a week. So chances are, out of the 250 shows in the next year that will be on live television, I’m sure you’ll end up seeing me somewhere again at some time. So it’s unfortunate, but it helps build that story. That’s where it all is, it’s all pieces that build that story. Whenever I do make it back, it’ll mean even more.”

When asked about his future, Cameron Grimes assured me that he would definitely be working somewhere soon. He admitted that initially getting to WWE was the toughest part, but he’s optimistic about his future prospects. Lee stated that even if he doesn’t return to WWE, he plans to succeed elsewhere and elevate his career to the level he aspired to achieve in WWE.

“I’ll definitely be somewhere. I don’t have any doubt in that. I did have some doubt in that, when leaving WWE. But I definitely think that getting back into it, I’m gonna be able to get back into that mindset. I already did the hardest part. The hardest part is getting there, not getting back. The hardest part is getting there the first time. Even if I never get back there, I’ve accomplished a lot. But let’s say that I’m gonna get back there, and even I don’t get back there, I’ll be somewhere else and I’ll be able to elevate myself to a status that I wanted to do there. It doesn’t matter wherever I’m gonna go, I’m gonna do that.”

Cameron Grimes has also made it quite clear that he is interested in making his way to AEW. In the meantime, Grimes also made his in-ring return during a recent indie event. Nonetheless, we’ll have to see what’s next in store for Grimes, as the world is truly his oyster.
