Bayley won the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40 and has been defending the title with pride. She had a great match against Meiko Satomura recently and has now penned a heartfelt tribute to the Japanese legend.

During the WWE Live Event in Tokyo last week on July 28, Bayley defended her Women’s Championship against Meiko Satomura and would ultimately prevail. They would then share a moment and bow at each other.

Bayley took to her Instagram and expressed her deep gratitude to Meiko Satomura, praising her for the impact she has made on women’s wrestling globally and for her grace and respect during their recent interaction. Bayley mentioned that sharing a locker room and a ring with Satomura was an honor she will cherish throughout her career.

Bayley admitted that even as a champion, she sometimes struggles with self-doubt and the challenges of the business. However, her match in Tokyo against Meiko Satomura provided a powerful reminder of why she loves professional wrestling. It reignited her passion and reaffirmed her commitment to the sport, pointing out the significance of the moment for both herself and the fans.

“Thank you Satomura-san. I’m eternally grateful for not only the path you’ve paved for women’s wrestling in Japan and around the world, but I’m so grateful for your grace and respect this past week. Sharing a locker room and a ring with you was something I will carry with me for as long as I’m in this business. It was an absolute honor.

Selfishly, I really needed this one. Even as a current champion there comes times of doubt and the feeling of not believing in myself. Because….this sh*t is hard. But this night in Tokyo, Japan vs Meiko changed all that. This match was an example of what I love about pro wrestling. The feeling inside the ring when nothing else matters but that moment, the feeling of what it meant to the fans watching in the building. It was a special reminder for myself of how far I’ve come and that I have so much more to give.

Thank you @wwejapan

It is also to be noted that Meiko Satomura will be retiring next year, so Bayley’s tribute carries more weight. WWE’s reaction to Satomura’s retirement has also been revealed, so Bayley will forever cherish being able to share the ring with the Japanese legend and that’s all that matters to her in the end.
