WWE is an ever-changing company and there are lots of people who eventually leave the promotion, leaving room for others to get hired for roles in the company. In fact, WWE is currently hiring for a Vice President position as well.

According to the job listing, WWE is hiring for a “Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs – Talent Relations & Talent Development” position in Stamford, CT. This job involves handling all legal matters related to WWE’s talent, including negotiating and drafting contracts and managing risks.

The person in this role will need to negotiate and draft different types of contracts, like those for talent bookings, merchandise deals, and appearance agreements. They will also provide legal advice on issues related to sponsorships, production, licensing, and live events. They will review and approve contracts for talent appearances and maintain good relationships with WWE’s business partners. The job includes working closely with talent agencies, managers, and lawyers.

The Vice President will need to stay updated on trends in the entertainment industry, both in the U.S. and abroad. They will also work with WWE’s Finance teams to handle talent payments and manage day-to-day legal tasks. This role involves leading other legal staff and working with senior WWE executives and various teams.

To qualify, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience as a lawyer in media, sports, talent agency, TV production, or live events. They need to understand TV industry agreements and union regulations (like SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, PGA). Knowledge of contract law and NIL rights is required, along with experience in fast-paced environments.

Strong skills in negotiating, drafting, and communication are important. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to make independent decisions. They should have a law degree from a U.S. law school, be licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state, and be eligible to work as in-house counsel in Connecticut.

As previously reported, Longtime WWE creative writer John Swikata was promoted to lead writer for WWE SmackDown last month, so changes are nothing new in the company in recent weeks. Therefore, it remains to be seen who will end up qualifying for the Vice President Role when all is said and done.
