WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, who trains many aspiring wrestlers at his KnokXPro wrestling school, has now shared his preference for his students to sign with WWE over AEW.
While speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi talked about how working for the largest wrestling organization offers a valuable experience beyond just in-ring action. He emphasized his belief that WWE, as the largest and most established wrestling company, offers a level of stability and opportunity that other, newer companies cannot match.
Rikishi mentioned that despite the emergence of new wrestling promotions, WWE’s enduring presence and the solid relationships with the company make it a preferable choice for his trainees. He also pointed out the importance of his students gaining experience and insight into the operations behind the scenes at WWE, which he believes is crucial for their development.
“I’ve always wanted you kids to go to WWE. WWE is our home, we have a good relationship with the WWE and it’s always going to be there. I don’t care what new company comes up, another new company comes up, two, three years from now, WWE will never ever go anywhere,” said the veteran star. “So at the end of the day when we get these extras, when they request for extras, I love to take some of you kids there so you’ve experienced that, to where you go and you let them see how everything works behind the scenes.”
As for Rikishi himself, he recently faced some backlash for his remarks about WWE trying to break Jey Uso’s marriage, so he ended up deleting the podcast altogether. Nonetheless, WWE is truly the global juggernaut of professional wrestling, which opens up several avenues for pro wrestlers, so it is not hard to see why Rikishi ultimately wants his students to join WWE over AEW.
