The Hurt Business, consisting of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, made a notable impact during their time in WWE, boosting each member’s career and building a loyal fan base. The group’s disbandment in 2021 left many fans disappointed. Recently, MVP claimed that WWE took the concept of The Hurt Business and transferred it to The Bloodline. Konnan has since responded to MVP’s comments.
Even Roman Reigns felt that the faction was broken up too early. While there was brief attempt at reunion, it was ultimately short-lived, leaving fans with no expectation of a future return for the faction. Bobby Lashley previously said the breakup ‘hurt his heart.’
MVP recently took to his Instagram and uploaded a post featuring The Hurt Business when they were on top of WWE. This led to quite a few fans asking him questions about The Bloodline. One fan noted how WWE took The Hurt Business’ gimmick and gave it to The Bloodline. MVP responded to the fan by admitting that was the case.
”They took your gimmick and crew and gave it to the bloodline. That’s what happened . You guys were so kool, the suits, the attitude and gold. A complete unit!
True story.”
While speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, pro wrestling veteran Konnan addressed MVP’s accusation. Konnan made it clear he didn’t know why WWE would ever break up The Hurt Business. However, he then stated that he doesn’t agree with MVP’s accusation that The Bloodline stole The Hurt Business’ gimmick and that he doesn’t see the connection.
“Well yeah, I don’t know why they stopped The Hurt Business. They was doing great. Lashley was going great. Why did they disappear him? MVP was great. I did not like Omos, I don’t think he was in The Hurt Business but MVP was his manager. I liked The Hurt Business. I do not know how The Bloodline stole their gimmick. I don’t see the connection there. Yeah, that’s what I think.”
In the meantime, We have also reported that MVP’s contract is set to expire next month and Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract is set to expire within the next few weeks and reports also suggest that the Hurt Business could be poised to make return in AEW, so we’ll have to see what will become of the faction in the end.
