Dustin Rhodes, a seasoned veteran in professional wrestling with decades of experience, has been an active member of the AEW roster. He finally won a championship at AEW Battle of the Belts XI and has now stated that this win is the best of his career.

At AEW Battle of the Belts XI, Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Ross and Marshall Von Erich) won the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Titles. They beat The Undisputed Kingdom, which included Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Roderick Strong.

Dustin Rhodes won the match by hitting Mike Bennett with the Final Cut and getting the pin. Maria Kanellis tried to distract the new champions for The Undisputed Kingdom, but Katsuyori Shibata stepped in and put the Claw on Roderick Strong to help. Kevin Von Erich also got involved, using the Claw on Matt Taven. This win is the first ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship for Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs, adding a big achievement to their careers.

As revealed by an exclusive video on AEW’s YouTube Channel, Dustin Rhodes expressed his heartfelt emotions, saying that he felt this moment was surreal for him. At 55 years old and having spent 36 years in the wrestling business, he admitted he had no idea how special this occasion would be. He was particularly moved by the fact that he was standing in the ring with the Von Erichs and winning six-man gold. He described it as an incredible honor to be alongside Kevin and his two incredibly athletic sons, who are destined for great things in wrestling due to their immense talent.

Rhodes reflected on his long career and the many titles he has won, noting that while titles are significant in professional wrestling, the World Heavyweight Championship had eluded him. Despite that, he felt that this particular title was the most rewarding. He was thrilled to be part of the Texas legacy and acknowledged the quick formation of the match that led to their success.

“Guys, I’m going to be honest with you for just a second. This is a surreal moment for me. I’m 55 years old and I’ve been doing this a long, long time—36 years. I promise you this from the bottom of my heart: I had no idea this was going to be so special. The two families we have here, the Von Erichs and the Rhodes, I never in a million years thought I would be standing here with the Von Erichs in the ring and winning six-man gold. It is an incredible honor to be standing here in front of you, Kevin, and your two boys, who are unbelievably athletic. They are just going to shoot to the moon because of the talent they have. It is incredible to watch these guys perform, even with my big old ass out there selling and watching them do dropkicks higher than anybody in the world.

I’ve won a lot of titles over these 36 years, and titles are very special in this business. Everybody who gets into the pro wrestling industry wants, or should want, to be World Heavyweight Champion. That hasn’t come to me, but of all the titles I’ve won, I can honestly say this one feels the best. This one feels the rightest. This is Texas, baby—that’s what we do. I don’t know if this match was thought of a month ago, but it came together pretty quickly, and by God, we’re standing here: the Rhodes and the Von Erichs, the ROH six-man World Tag Team Champions.

We will have to wait and see how Dustin Rhodes will be booked as the ROH six-man tag team champion alongside the Von Erichs, as Rhodes made it very clear it is a huge honor for him.
