Grayson Waller Says He Would Have Dropped Terence Crawford After 7/26 WWE SmackDown

WWE has cultivated strong relationships with various sports, including professional boxing. It was no surprise to see Terence Crawford make appearances on SmackDown last week and again this week. After Crawford knocked down Austin Theory during the show, Grayson Waller took the opportunity to send a message to the boxing champion.

On the July 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes took the ring to address the recent attack on him and to preview his upcoming SummerSlam opponent. During his speech, he was interrupted by A-Town Down Under, with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller ambushing him and tossing him out of the ring.

In the midst of the turmoil, renowned boxer Terence Crawford, who was in the audience, handed Rhodes a steel chair. Rhodes used the chair to re-enter the ring and fend off his attackers, ultimately coming out on top.

During the July 26th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller called out Terence Crawford during an in-ring segment. When Crawford made his entrance, Waller accused him of disrespecting them by aiding Cody Rhodes the previous week and demanded an apology.

Waller outlined two reasons for the apology: Crawford’s interference in the Rhodes situation and his belief that he deserved to be in the ring with A-Town Down Under. Waller then warned Crawford that if he took one more step toward them, Austin Theory would be ready to knock him out.

Grayson Waller took to Twitter after the show and said Terence Crawford made a smart choice by not confronting him. He noted that getting into a fight before Crawford’s big match would have been a bad look. Waller also praised Theory for stepping up against both Tyson Fury and Terence Crawford, saying that Theory isn’t afraid of anyone.

”Smart move not touching me @terencecrawford , would have been a tough look getting dropped a week before your big fight. Also huge shoutout to @_Theory1 ! Went toe to toe with Tyson Fury and now Terence Crawford. This man ain’t afraid of nobody #SmackDown”

We have also reported why WWE promoted Terence Crawford’s upcoming boxing match despite the fact it will take place on the same day as SummerSlam. Regardless, it remains to be seen whether Grayson Waller and Terence Crawford will cross paths once again.
