CM Punk, who is undergoing training for his in-ring return at SummerSlam 2024, has transcended as a top-tier WWE superstar and played multiple roles in the global juggernaut. One of those high-profile roles was The Best in the World, leading the charge of dominant factions.

The Best in the World’s first faction was the infamous Straight Edge Society in the late 2000s. The stable was born out of CM Punk’s real-life beliefs and comprised Luke Gallows, Serena Deeb and Joey Mercury under his tutelage.

Around 2011, Punk took over the reins of The Nexus from Wade Barrett and garnered significant attention with young and upcoming former NXT stars in his leadership before his skyrocketing success that followed after the ‘Pipebomb’ promo.

During a recent interview with Ringside Collectibles, CM Punk was asked about starting a potential new faction during his second WWE run. The former WWE Champion did not rule out the idea but claimed that it would not be happening in the near future.

“I am not going to say no, never say never … I don’t see it happening in the foreseable future, but you never know what is going to happen.”

While CM Punk starting a new faction is yet to be seen, he is currently focused on his first match back in WWE after tearing his triceps at the WWE Royal Rumble PLE earlier this year. Punk is scheduled to battle his heated rival, Drew McIntyre, with Seth Rollins as the Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam in less than a week, with the match expected to be a blockbuster showdown.
