Tony Khan has become a prominent figure in the world of professional wrestling due to his passion and love for the industry. Khan currently owns ROH and wants both ROH and AEW to grow, which is why he has now addressed his strategy for free agent scouting.

Tony Khan purchased ROH back in 2022 – making it clear he wouldn’t let the company die. Over the past couple of years, Khan has shown his commitment to revitalizing ROH by organizing several pay-per-view events under the ROH banner.

AEW has already signed major names such as Mercedes MoneKazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay. Therefore, fans started wondering whether AEW would still try to sign more major free agents in the future.

While speaking during the ROH Death Before Dishonor media call, when asked if he’s scouting free agents specifically for ROH or just for AEW, Tony Khan clarified that they are hiring wrestlers for both promotions. He mentioned the logistical advantages of filming both shows at the same venue in Arlington, noting the enthusiastic response from the “hot Texas crowd” and praising the “exciting, intimate environment” of the venue.

Tony Khan has also confirmed that ROH is currently involved in AEW’s current media rights deal negotiations with Warner Bros Discovery. Khan also confirmed that he has a big war chest for signing free agents in the future, so we’ll have to see what Khan will end up doing in the coming months, as more free agents are bound to crop up.
