Ricochet, who was a regular on WWE TV for years, has left the company and is expected to join AEW. With rumors of his AEW debut gaining steam, Swerve Strickland has commented on Ricochet’s possible move to AEW.

As noted earlier, Ricochet’s WWE contract was nearing its end in the summer of 2024. On July 1st, his contract officially expired, and he became a free agent. This led to fans immediately wondering if he would join AEW.

It has since been reported that Ricochet is likely to join AEW soon. His agent was recently spotted backstage at AEW and has been actively negotiating his move to the company.

While speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Swerve Strickland talked about the possibility of facing Ricochet in AEW, especially since. Strickland mentioned that they’ve fought each other before in MLW and that the competition in AEW is very tough.

Strickland said that AEW has a lot of challenges and that wrestlers need to be very adaptable. If Ricochet joins AEW, he’ll need to be prepared for a tough environment with a lot of skilled wrestlers. Strickland knows this from his own experience, having had to adapt when he started in AEW, and he believes it’s a demanding place for everyone.

”I mean, we’ve (Swerve & Ricochet) had our matches without the masks in MLW. We’ve had Strickland versus Ricochet before. It’s up to him. I don’t know. We’ll see. Competition’s stiff in AEW and there’s also a different type of ladder to climb in a lot of different ways here. It doesn’t necessarily make it easier. It’s difficulties on both sides of things, and you gotta adapt. AEW is — now more than ever, you gotta be an adaptable performer, way more so in AEW nowadays and so, if that’s true, get ready to put a different type of working boots on, and there’s a lot of people that don’t wanna make it easy, for anybody. It’s already not easy for me in the position I’m in. So, and I’ve been in the position of the new guy coming in and I had to adapt. A lot of people have tried to adapt and they couldn’t do it. So, that goes to show you the type of locker room, the type of talent, the type of energy, the type of workload that comes in AEW.

Even Jim Ross believes Ricochet would do great job in AEW. Will Ospreay has also addressed Ricochet potentially joining AEW, expressing his excitement and anticipation. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see how Ricochet will be booked in AEW once he debuts there, as anything is possible for him.
