Scorpio Sky was considered one of the most gifted in-ring competitors in all of AEW. He also held the TNT Title for a decent length of time but he hasn’t been seen on AEW television for a long time and has now addressed the same.

Last year, Scorpio Sky was put out of action after “freak injury” and he missed out on several months of in-ring time. He would eventually return in September last year and competed in a few matches.

Despite being an original AEW wrestler, Sky hasn’t been seen regularly recently, with his last match taking place in October 2023. While speaking on the Insight podcast, Scorpio Sky admitted he’s had an inconsistent presence over the past few years. He attributed some of this to injuries but denied being ‘injury-prone.’

Sky mentioned he had an injury about two years ago, but it healed quickly. However, getting back into the rotation at AEW has been challenging due to the large roster and constant influx of new talent.

“I did get hurt about two years ago but I was okay within like a couple of weeks. But the problem is when you fall out of the rotation, we have so much talent, that it’s hard to get back in the rotation.”

During his time away, Sky has been working out and plans to return to the independent wrestling scene, where he hopes to have exciting matches and revisit his roots. While he’s looking forward to the independents, Sky’s main focus is returning to AEW. He feels ready to get back on TV and is waiting for the right opportunity and situation, acknowledging the difficulty of re-entering the mix with so many people in the company.

“I’m ready. I think we’re just waiting for the right opportunity, for the right situation. Again, there are a lot of guys in the company and people coming in all the time… it’s just a little tough sometimes to work your way back.”

Scorpio Sky last defeated Darius Martin during the October 7th edition of ROH television and has not been seen since then. We will have to wait and see when Sky will make his return to either AEW or ROH television.
