WWE has some big plans for the future, and fans in Japan are set to see their first live event tour since the pandemic. The company wants to stack an exciting card for that event, and they have decided to place three men who were once huge in Japanese pro wrestling on top of the bill.

WWE’s next tour in Japan is set for July 25, 2024, through July 27, 2024. WWE is returning to Japan this summer after a 5-year hiatus! Since their first visit in 1994, WWE has hosted numerous live events. This July, they will return to Tokyo for the first time in 5 years and Osaka for the first time in 6 years, bringing their Superstars along for the exciting tour!

Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, and AJ Styles are all WWE Superstars now, but they all spent their time in NJPW, where they were all champions. Cody never clinched the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, but AJ and Shinsuke do have that honor on their resume. Rhodes did have a run as United States Champion, a time that was recently panned by Gabe Kidd. All three are slated to battle in the main event of WWE’s upcoming Supershow Tour in Japan.

WrestleVotes reported more than just WWE’s plan for the main event match. It was also reported that Meiko Satomura will team with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair to take on Damage CTRL. GUNTHER and Rey Mysterio will also be in action in a match that could prove to be an interesting one.

I’m told some of the featured matchups on the WWE “SuperShow Summer Tour” in Japan over the next few days include:

•Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship

•Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair & Meiko Satomura vs. Damage CTRL

•Gunther vs. Rey Mysterio

•Kevin Owens & LA Knight vs. Tama Tonga & Solo Sikoa

This card will also see Tama Tonga in action, but not Tanga Loa. They were known as the Guerrillas of Destiny in NJPW, but Solo Sikoa will fill out the two-man team for the Bloodline instead. We will have to see if Jacob Fatu and Tanga Loa make the trip to Japan, but fans would certainly like to see them there.

We will keep an eye on this story, and so many more in the pro wrestling world. You don’t know what will break next, but we will be here for all the headlines you need.

What’s your take on WWE’s current plan for their Japanese tour? Do you think it gives us an idea about where the company is heading? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
