RAW star Jey Uso expressed excitement over the possibility that Rhea Ripley might be single after she distanced herself from Dominik Mysterio during the July 15 episode of WWE RAW.
This sparked a potential romantic angle as Jey invited Ripley to join him at a Waffle House, suggesting she deserved better and that he intended to take things slow and even encouraged her to call him. However, Ripley reassured her Latino Heat, Dominik Mysterio that he had nothing to worry about, indicating her lack of romantic interest in the Main Event One.
Furthermore, Jey’s father, Rikishi, voiced strong criticism regarding how WWE is managing Jey Uso’s storyline. He expressed concern over the confusing narrative directions and the potential real-life implications of such a storyline for Uso.
Hearing Rikishi’s comments, former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman also shared his thoughts on the matter via his X. He slammed Rikishi’s concerns that it was all storyline, with him having nothing to worry about regarding his son’s marriage falling apart. However, Coachman did agree with Rikishi regarding WWE’s poor booking of Jey Uso, who he called the most over talent they had right now.
“Just waiting for the ‘smarks’ to tell the legend Rikishi ‘it’s not real. It’s a work. What are you worried about.’ To these spouses and those at home, it’s very real. Plus, it’s just lazy booking. Jey Uso is the most over talent they have right now. And he’s stuck chasing Rhea around.”
As of now, Rhea Ripley has patched things up with Dominik Mysterio, effectively leaving Jey Uso out of the storyline. As WWE heads towards SummerSlam, it remains to be seen if Jey Uso would be slated for a match or if the company would choose to leave out the man who main-evented last year’s event in a high-stakes title bout.
