During the July 15 episode of WWE RAW, Main Event Jey Uso repeatedly expressed interest in former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. This led Jey Uso’s father, Rikishi, to accuse WWE of trying to disrupt Uso’s marriage.

The storyline twist was addressed on the July 22 RAW episode, where Rhea Ripley reassured her beloved Dominik Mysterio that she had no romantic interest in Jey Uso and patched up with him later that night.

On his “Rikishi Off The Top” podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer criticized WWE’s handling of Uso’s storyline, expressing concern over its potential impact on Uso’s real life and marriage. He strongly opposed the narrative involving Uso and a character named Mami, calling it poorly thought out.

Following significant backlash from fans and wrestling peers, Rikishi removed the podcast episode from all platforms. Now, after his actions, Rikishi took to his X to break the silence, sending out a clear message to everyone to speak their mind.

Despite the controversy, Rikishi is entitled to his opinions, though the negative reactions likely influenced his decision to delete the episode. Regardless, after the entire fiasco, we will have to wait and see if WWE decides to change the narrative regarding Jey Uso as their next Premium Live Event. WWE SummerSlam is on the horizon in two weeks.
