Pat McAfee is renowned as a highly talented and imaginative figure in the WWE and only came back earlier this year to WWE programming. However, he is now set to be on hiatus from his WWE duties as he has now confirmed that he will be returning to ESPN’s College GameDay.
The former NFL punter made sure to sign lucrative deal with ESPN, which was a major thing for him. However, many fans wondered if he was going to be part of ESPN’s College GameDay this year as there was uncertainty behind his appearance.
Pat McAfee revealed his comeback on the July 24th episode of The Pat McAfee Show, which featured a special video message showcasing highlights from his time on College GameDay.
Reflecting on his time with the show, McAfee expressed his excitement and gratitude, mentioning that after considering his role and the opportunity, he felt strongly about continuing. He confirmed his return to College GameDay and expressed enthusiasm for August 24th, aiming to be part of the greatest year in college football history.
“When my contract came up, after living a dream alongside that crew that is just as talented off camera as they are on camera, I thought long and hard. ‘Am I the right person to be doing this incredible gig? There are millions and millions of people that would love to be sitting in my seat. Am I the right guy for it? Is this what I want to do?’ The only thing that I kept coming back to is, ‘Hell f*****yeah.’ I’m lucky, I’m honored, I’m humbled. I’m grateful, and I’m back.”
We will have to wait and see how Pat McAfee will fare in his upcoming role as part of ESPN’s College GameDay, as there is no doubt that fans will miss him as part of the commentary booth alongside Michael Cole on Monday Night RAW once he is gone.
