The special edition of AEW Dynamite, Blood and Guts featured a highly explosive battle between Chris Jericho and Japanese star Minoru Suzuki, with Jericho’s FTW Championship on the line.
The match was expected to be a highly physical and enthralling showdown and lived up to the expectations of the fans in attendance and the theme for tonight’s Dynamite episode, Blood and Guts.
A key highlight of the match saw Minoru Suzuki landing multiple hard-hitting chops on Chris Jericho’s chest, with The Learning Tree visibly bleeding. Despite taking the impact, Jericho managed to defeat Suzuki and retain his title, but Minoru had the last laugh after taking down Jericho with a submission hold.
Later on, The Learning Tree took to his Instagram to show his battle scars from the title match. Jericho labelled Minoru Suzuki as completely insane for chopping him multiple times and revealed getting injured by his offence.
“Even though I beat @suzuki.d.minoru and retained my #FTW Title on #AEWDynamite tonight….he is completely INSANE!! HE chopped me over 100 TIMES, dropped me on my HEAD, and he BROKE MY FINGER!!!! I promise you #Suzuki you PSYCHO…..this isn’t over!!! @aew #murdergrampa 🌳👋 #TheLearningTree.”
Moreover, at the end of his tweet, Chris Jericho hinted that things are not over between himself and Minoru Suzuki. So it will be interesting to see if these two titans once collide in high-stakes situations and deliver another physically battering match for the AEW fans.
