Ronda Rousey departed from WWE following her match against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam last year. Since her exit, she has openly criticized her time with the company and targeted Vince McMahon in particular. Rousey has commented that the WWE Women’s Division is making progress now that Vince McMahon is no longer in charge.

Earlier this year, Ronda Rousey talked about her WWE experiences, providing major insights into her tenure with the company. Notably, she uses strong language towards Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis, expressing her frustrations by telling them to go ‘f*** themselves.’ Ronda Rousey also alleges that WWE discriminated against women.

While speaking in an interview with Scott Fishman from TV Insider, Ronda Rousey talked about how women in combat sports, like WWE and UFC, are doing better than ever. She said that people are starting to take female fighters seriously, which is making a big difference in boxing, UFC, wrestling, and even Olympic wrestling.

The old insult of “fighting like a girl” is no longer relevant. Even though she’s been busy with her family and hasn’t watched much wrestling lately, she saw a post from Natalya showing that many recent matches were women’s matches. Rousey saw this as a big win for equal representation.

“I think women in combat sports everywhere are succeeding more than ever before because people are taking them seriously. I think that being able to prove that women can fight and be exciting and dynamic. There has been this ripple effect on boxing, UFC, pro wrestling, and even Olympic wrestling. Women’s combat sports are exploding everywhere. Where fighting like a girl was an insult, and it’s not that anymore. I’ve been running around doing the mom thing and doing all these things that I haven’t been able to watch wrestlng as much as I used to. I saw a post from Nattie the other day that they had a card or half of the matches on the card were women. That was the last real hurdle for us to get to. To have equal representation in the programming time.”

Rousey also mentioned that progress is making it easier for women to advance in the sport compared to the past. Although WWE seemed to go backwards after their big WrestleMania event, she feels positive about the current direction under Triple H, especially with Vince McMahon gone. Rousey acknowledged that women’s matches may not get as much time as men’s, but she is hopeful that things are improving and believes the changes are good for the future.

“I’m sure the matches themselves didn’t get the time the men got for the most part, but all these steps forward make it so much easier for those after us to continue to start where we left off rather than all the way to the back. We can keep pushing farther and farther and help the next generations. There was a point after we had the main event of WrestleMania that I feel like WWE took several steps back, but now that Vince McMahon is gone and Triple H is at the helm, I feel we are taking steps forward again. I’m extremely encouraged by what is happening across the entire industry.”

Ronda Rousey has been labeled bitter woman for her anti-WWE remarks, and it’s not difficult to understand why. Nevertheless, Rousey is far more focused on her other career right now, so pro wrestling doesn’t really matter to her anymore.
