MJF believes he makes AEW interesting. As one of the pillars of AEW, he has certainly done a lot in the ring and continues to entertain on a weekly basis. Now, the Salt of the Earth is doing his thing and still carrying the company on his back in his own astute opinion, and they are boring without him.

MJF returned to AEW at AEW Double or Nothing 2024, proclaiming that he is not leaving and showing his new AEW tattoo. He eventually ditched the Triple H-looking denim jacket and put on his scarf once again to become a mega heel. In the two months since his return, he has already captured the AEW International Championship in a nail-biter of a match against Will Ospreay.

MJF told Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated that he’s been carrying AEW on his back. He continued to put himself over by saying that they need him, and it’s a good thing they have him around to do his job, because AEW is straight-up boring without him.

I’ve been carrying this company for five years on my back. People need MJF. It’s that simple. This company needs MJF. Fortunately, they’ve got me. What’s this company without MJF? It’s boring. This is the most people have talked about my company in months. Thank me later. If you’re not going to give me my just due now, you’ll have to when it’s all said and done.”

“I’m the most interesting man in professional wrestling. I’ve been that way since I laced up a pair of boots. There are two types of people: the ones who admit I’m probably the greatest overall package in the history of this sport, and then there are people who want to pretend they know better. They won’t admit what’s right in front of them. For years, people said John Cena was not the GOAT. They said Randy Orton was boring. Those people actually exist in the world. Those are the type of the people who see mediocrity when they look in the mirror, and you can quote me on that.”

MJF will always be a focal point of AEW as long as he is under contract. Not only did he sign a very lucrative agreement to extend his stay in AEW, but he also got a tattoo on his ankle to prove his dedication to Tony Khan. We will have to see what he does next, but it will likely be very interesting.

Since MJF is a champion in AEW once again, he may set it upon himself to make the International Championship one with esteem, elevating it as he did the AEW World Title during his run as champion. Will Ospreay is also around, and he may already be down for a rematch.
