It’s Monday night, and you know what that means! WWE RAW will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the July 22, 2024 episode.
The start time for WWE RAW is 8:00 PM EST. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.
The show opens up with an overhead shot of Lambeau Field and footage of the arrival of CM Punk. We then get separate shots of the arrivals of Bron Breakker and “The Mad Dragon” Ilja Dragunov while Michael Cole says they will meet later in the show for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. We then get a shot of arrival of The Judgment Day.
2024 WWE King of the Ring “The Ring General” GUNTHER then makes his way down to the ring as he is being introduced by ring announcer Samantha Irvin. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee then welcomes us to the show and Cole says RAW will air on Syfy for the next two weeks due to the Olympics.
GUNTHER starts off by saying he took some time to reflect on what he said to Damian Priest last week, but immediately takes it back as soon as the crowd starts booing him. GUNTHER then says he meant every word and calls both Priest and then fans “bums”, then points out the fact that he is kicking off RAW rather than Priest. GUNTHER then says Priest does not live up to the hype and his story doesn’t cover up Priest being a wannabe. GUNTHER then says today is the day that Judgment Day will be judged by The Ring General. GUNTHER then calls the entirety of Judgment Day “street trash”, then calls Priest down to the ring to make him an offer and that is he will lift the weight off his shoulders by handing him the World Heavyweight Championship. Damien Priest’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Priest wastes no time and he nails GUNTHER with a right hand. Both men then begin to brawl with each other as officials run down to the ring to try and pull Priest and GUNTHER apart. Security guards, referees and producers then made their way to GUNTHER at ringside. Priest tosses one of the security guards over the top rope and onto a pile of security guards below. Priest then heads to ringside and fights with GUNTHER until they were separated. Priest then breaks free and charges at GUNTHER.
We then get an ad for next week’s RAW on Syfy and it was announced that this will be the go-home episode of WWE SummerSlam. We then get highlights from the brawl between Priest and GUNTHER.
We then head to the back, where Jackie Redmond says she is hoping to get a word with GUNTHER. Damian Priest then suddenly shows up and attacks GUNTHER. Both men were then pulled apart by referees, producers and security guards.
We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is a WWE Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Match.
The match starts off with Breakker cinching in a waist lock on Dragunov. Dragunov then escapes with a series of back elbows and the action spills to the outside. Breakker then wears Dragunov down and gets him back inside the ring, but Dragunov hits a running knee on Breakker and sends him crashing into the corner. Breakker then delivers some strikes on Dragunov, but Dragunov responds with a boot on Breakker that sends him into the ropes. Both men then begin brawling on the apron before Breakker sends Dragunov crashing into the top of the ring post midsection first.
Dragunov then delivers strikes on Breakker. Breakker then intercepts Dragunov and hits him with a gutbuster and both men exchange strikes with each other. Dragunov then hits an enzuigiri on Breakker, then follows it up with a jumping boot and the Constantine Special. Dragunov then hits a jumping knee and a running boot on Breakker in the corner, then follows it up with a powerbomb. Dragunov then goes for a pin, but Breakker kicks out. Breakker then hits an avalanche hurricanrana on Dragunov and goes for a pin, but Dragunov kicks out. Breakker then climbs back to the top, but Dragunov hits him with an enzuigiri and joins Breakker on the top. Dragunov then hits a superplex and the H-Bomb on Breakker, then gets him up on his shoulders on the apron and nails him with a Death Valley Driver. Dragunov then looks to fly off the apron, but Breakker intercepts him with a spear. The referee then begins a ten count, but stops herself. She then checks on Dragunov on the outside and calls off the match.

We then head to the back, where Rhea Ripley was speaking with Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh and Carlito. Dominik pulls Ripley aside and says he was a little concerned that she wrote “yeet” in response to Jey Uso wanting her number. Ripley says she was just messing around, just like Dominik was with Liv Morgan. Bálor then tells Dominik that he needs to take care of Jey once and for all. Ripley then says Jey doesn’t matter. Bálor then asks if Ripley was defending Jey. Ripley then says she wasn’t defending anyone, but she didn’t see the point of starting a war with Jey. Ripley then tells Dominik to use his brain and she leaves the room. Bálor then tells Dominik that he knew what he had to do.
“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre was then shown backstage with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and two referees. McIntyre and Pearce then shakes hands.
Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night.
We then head to the back, where Xavier Woods was shown holding a birthday cake for Akira Tozawa while Otis and Maxxine Dupri stood by. Otis and Tozawa then grabs the cake with their hands and eats it.
Michael Cole then says Damian Priest and GUNTHER are both ejected from the building as Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark make their way down to the ring and the next match of the night is underway.
The match starts off with Deville hitting a knee on Valkyria’s midsection and following it up with a hair whip, but Valkyria responds with some shoulders on Deville’s midsection in the corner. Valkyria then trips Deville and hits her with a dropkick, but Deville slides out of the ring for a breather. Valkyria then looks to hit a dropkick through the middle rope, but Deville sees her coming and sends her into the barricade. Valkyria then places Deville on the top rope and delivers some forearms and right hands on her. Valkyria then hits Deville with a superplex, but Deville responds with a jumping knee and a kick on Valkyria. Valkyria then hits a boot on Deville’s midsection, then hits her with a second boot and a Northern Lights suplex. Valkyria then goes for a pin, but Deville kicks out. Valkyria then gets Deville up on her shoulders, but Deville escapes and looks to hit the Deville’s Advocate. Valkyria then avoids it and hits a gut wrench Michinoku Driver on Deville. Valkyria then climbs to the top, but Baszler distracts the referee and Stark trips her. Carter and Chance then attack Stark and Baszler, but Valkyria hits a dropkick through the middle ropes to take them out. Deville then intercepts her and hits her with the Deville’s Advocate for the win.

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee then has a conversation at ringside about The Wyatt Sicks. Cole says they will learn more about “the witch-like being,” who has been sending them the VHS tapes. We then get video footage of Nikki Cross and Uncle Howdy telling her “Look at yourself. They lied to you. They ignored you, watched you suffer.” Howdy then says he has been the answer all along. Cross then screams after Howdy says “look at yourself” again.
CM Punk was shown then walking backstage. Michael Cole then asks “What was that?” in regards to the Nikki Cross footage. Cole then says Punk will appear next.
We then get an ad for Jelly Roll performing at WWE SummerSlam. Cole hypes that Jelly Roll will perform “Liar” live during SummerSlam. McAfee then calls it an absolute banger and says Jelly Roll will kill it like he always does.
CM Punk then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.
CM Punk starts off by saying it’s great to be alive on a Monday Night in Wisconsin and it’s time to stain Green Bay and his pink shoes with the blood of a Scottish Psychopath. Punk then announces he is medically cleared, then calls Drew McIntyre down to the ring for a fight. Drew McIntyre’s music then hits and he makes his way out. McIntyre tells Punk he can’t explain how long he’s waited for this. McIntyre then says nothing will stop him from getting in the ring and tearing Punk apart except he doesn’t want to. Punk then says he wants to tear McIntyre apart and goes after him on the ramp. Officials then appear to hold Punk back and McIntyre says a match between them is bigger than Green Bay. McIntyre then parades Punk’s bracelet around and Punk looks to break free. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce then makes his way out and tells Punk that there’s a reason McIntyre doesn’t want to fight tonight. Pearce then announces that McIntyre’s suspension has been lifted and says that McIntyre and Punk will collide at SummerSlam. Pearce then says that if McIntyre and Punk lay their hands on each other, the one to throw the first punch will be suspended. Pearce then says that they’ve created too much chaos and he has a referee problem.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins then makes his way down to the ring and shakes Pearce’s hand. Rollins then hugs him, then gets inside the ring and grabs a mic. Rollins tells Green Bay that they have a problem, then says McIntyre and Punk hate each other. Rollins then says because of all the chaos that both men has no one else wants to get in the ring with them to referee their SummerSlam match, but there’s a guy who thrives on chaos and wants to put them both in their place and that is no one else but himself. Rollins then declares that he will be the special guest referee in McIntyre and Punk’s SummerSlam match. Punk then jumps on the apron while producers hold him back. McIntyre then enters the ring while Rollins dances and laughs.
We then head to the back, where Dominik, Finn, McDonagh and Carlito were searching for Jey Uso. Carlito says they should divide and conquer. McDonagh and Carlito then goes one way. Finn then tells Dominik he will check one area and then sends him to another area. Liv Morgan then shows up and Dominik says she can’t keep doing this. Dominik then asks what she is doing. Morgan says she knows how Ripley is making him feel. Dominik then says they are perfect. Finn then shows up and Morgan makes her exit.
Xavier Woods, Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri then make their way down to the ring for the next match.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn was then interviewed by Cathy Kelley in a backstage area. Zayn says Bron Breakker earned his title shot. Zayn then says he’s not worried, but he is taking Breakker seriously. Zayn then advises Breakker to do the same by taking him seriously. Zayn then hears some commotion and leaves the interview set. Zayn then stops JD McDonagh and Carlito from attacking Jey Uso. Zayn and Jey then fights off McDonagh and Carlito.
The Final Testament then make their way down to the ring for the next match, which is a 6-Man Tag Team Match.
The match starts off with Woods and Kross. Kross immediately tags out to Rezar. Rezar then delivers some chops on Woods, then tags in Akam. Akam then hits a right hand on Woods’ spine, but Woods responds with a forearm and a kick. Woods then delivers some chops on Akam and tags in Tozawa. Tozawa then hits a forearm on Akam, then sends him crashing out of the ring. Tozawa then hits a dropkick and a tope suicida on Akam through the ropes, then gets fired up and rips off his shirt. Kross then hits a boot on Tozawa and gets him up on his shoulders. Kross then sends Tozawa crashing into the mat, then hits a forearm on Woods on the apron. Tozawa then sends Kross crashing into the top turnbuckle, then tags in Otis. Otis then nails Kross and the Authors of Pain with clotheslines, then hits a splash on Akam. Otis then hits The Caterpillar on Akam, but Kross nails Otis with a forearm. Woods then tags in and hits a dropkick on Kross as Tozawa nails the Authors of Pain on the outside. Woods then delivers some right hands on Kross in the corner, but Kross gets Woods on one shoulder and hits him with The Final Prayer for the win.

After the match, Chad Gable’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring with The Creed Brothers.
Chad Gable starts off by telling Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri that he wanted to talk to them because he can’t stay away from them. Gable says Otis has assumed leadership of the group, but he lost the first match as leader. Gable then says brains aren’t Otis’ strong suit and he recruited The Creed Brothers to fill in some weaknesses. Gable then asks the rest of Alpha Academy to rejoin him with the Wyatt Sicks hunting down the rest of the RAW roster. Otis then talks about the Wyatt Sicks’ attack on The Creed Brothers last week as an example of Gable’s protection and says he’s the kind of man to flee when someone else is being attacked. Otis then informs Gable he will not be rejoining him and Gable asks Dupri and Tozawa if they will to. Dupri and Tozawa then make it clear that won’t be the case.
Gable then orders The Creed Brothers to attack Otis and Tozawa. Brutus Creed and Julius Creed do so, but Otis nails them with a double clothesline. Otis then looks to take Gable down, but Gable and The Creed Brothers outnumber Otis. Brutus and Julius then send Otis crashing into the ring post shoulder first, then send him crashing into the apron. Gable then hands Brutus and Julius a chair each, but the lights go out and the Wyatt Sicks’ music begins to play. Julius and Brutus then prepare for the arrival of the group with chairs in hand. Sister Abigail, Mercy The Buzzard, Ramblin’ Rabbit and Huskus The Pig then appear on the ramp as Uncle Howdy appears in the ring behind Gable. Howdy then hits Gable with a Sister Abigail and falls to his knees.
Michael Cole and Pat McAfee then highlights the previous segment and we get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
Before the scheduled match between “Big” Bronson Reed and “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne can begin, Sheamus appears and nails Dunne with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus and Reed then begin brawling and Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick on Reed. Sheamus then hits The Ten Beats of the Bodhran on Dunne and looks to hit a Brogue Kick on Dunne, but Dunne avoids it. Sheamus then opts to hit one on Reed instead.
We then head inside the Judgment Day clubhouse, where Rhea Ripley asks Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Carlito what happened. Bálor says he’s had enough of being disrespected. Bálor then says he and McDonagh will take care of Sami Zayn and Jey Uso. Bálor then takes issue with GUNTHER referring to them as a joke and says we will see who is laughing when they meet next week. Ripley then recalls saying that no one could touch Jey Uso. Ripley then grabs Dominik by the arm. Dominik then asks what they are doing and Ripley says they are going to the ring.
We then head to the back, where Jackie Redmond asks Sheamus what was happening between him and Pete Dunne. Sheamus says he is still scratching his head. Sheamus then addresses Dunne and says their issues could be easily fixed over a pint or they can take it to the ring and find out who the real Bruiserweight is. Sheamus then asks Dunne are you up for a banger.
Rhea Ripley and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio then make their way down to the ring. Ripley stars off by telling WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan that if she wants Dominik, she can come and get him.
Liv Morgan’s music then hits and she appears in the crowd. Morgan says she won’t be coming down to the ring because she has self control. Morgan then says she can wait until SummerSlam and she came down to the ring to declare she and Dominik have feelings for each other. Morgan then says gorgeous men like Dominik don’t go for girls that look like Ripley. Morgan then says they go for girls that look like her. Ripley then looks to go after Morgan, but Dominik holds her back and tells Ripley to let him take care of things. Morgan then says she thinks she knows what Dominik will say and tells him she feels the exact same way. Morgan then tells Dominik to say “those three little words” and Dominik says the three words he feels about Morgan is “I hate you”. Dominik then tells Morgan that he hates her and she has ruined his life. Morgan then begins to sob and heads out of the crowd as Ripley smiles and whispers something to Dominik. Ripley then kisses Dominik on his cheek and they head to the back.
Michael Cole then hypes Damian Priest’s show for SummerSlam weekend and then recaps the Priest and GUNTHER segments from earlier in the show.
LWO’s Zelina Vega then made her way out with her right arm and hand heavily wrapped and was interviewed by Cathy Kelley. Vega says her injury will not stop her. Vega then says no one can keep her down. Vega then says it’s time she starts proving people wrong and shutting them up. Vega then makes her way down to the ring for a match against Zoey Stark. Zoey Stark then makes her way down to the ring with Sonya Deville and Shayna Baszler.
The match starts off with Vega rolling up Stark. Stark then kicks out and Vega looks to hit a hurricanrana on Stark, but Stark catches her. Vega then escapes and sends Stark crashing into the corner, but Stark sends Vega’s arm bouncing off the mat. Stark then looks to hit a couple of double knees on Vega’s arm, but Vega rolls out of the way before Stark can. Stark then delivers some shoulders on Vega in the corner, but Vega responds by sending Stark crashing into the middle turnbuckle and climbing up on it. Stark then joins Vega, but Vega hits a back elbow on Stark to knock her off. Stark then gets back up on the middle rope and sends Vega crashing to the outside. Stark then hits a dropkick off the top rope. Stark then wears down Vega with a submission hold, but Vega nails her with a Tornado DDT and climbs to the top. Vega then hits a moonsault on Stark and goes for a pin, but Stark kicks out. Stark hits hits Vega with a thrust kick and goes for a pin, but Vega kicks out. Vega then sends Stark crashing into the ropes and sets up for the 619, but Deville distracts the referee as Baszler trips Vega. Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance then make their way down to the ring and attack Baszler and Deville. Stark then hits a powerbomb on Vega, but Vega nails Stark and follows it up with a Code Red for the win.

We then head to the back and see Xavier Woods request a match from RAW General Manager Adam Pearce against Karrion Kross for next week. Pearce agrees and Drew McIntyre shows up to complain about Seth “Freakin” Rollins being the special guest referee in his SummerSlam Match against CM Punk. Pearce informs McIntyre that he and Punk will be meeting with Rollins inside the ring to go over the official rules of their SummerSlam Match. After Pearce leaves, McIntyre wonders what that means.
Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh were then shown in the Judgment Day clubhouse getting fired up for their match.
Jackie Redmond then speaks with WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Unholy Union (Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre). Dawn and Fyre speak about appearing on Smackdown to respond to the challenge made by former champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler then shows up. Deville says Belair and Cargill are not the biggest issue facing Dawn and Fyre, they are. Deville then says they will see the champions soon.
We then get a video package on GUNTHER. GUNTHER speaks about how the World Heavyweight Championship needs him to create a new mountaintop. GUNTHER then praises Seth Rollins, but says being champion drove him into the ground. GUNTHER then says Drew McIntyre’s obsession with CM Punk cost him. GUNTHER then speaks about how the cracks were showing with current champion Damian Priest. GUNTHER then says he is the only one who can redefine the prestige of the championship. GUNTHER then says he will become the World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn and “Main Event” Jey Uso were then shown walking through the concourse while fans were cheering them. A fan then gave them both “Yeet” foam fingers, which they are wearing while doing their handshake. Zayn and Uso then make their way down to the ring for the main event through the crowd.
We then get the lineup of next week’s WWE SummerSlam go-home episode of RAW and The Judgment Day (WWE World Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and Carlito) make their way down to the ring for the main event.
The match starts off with Jey Uso and Finn Bálor. Both men take turns in locking each other in submission holds before Bálor hits a shoulder tackle and a Hammer and Anvil elbow on Jey’s head. Jey then nails Bálor, then hits him with a modified Hip Attack and an enzuigiri in the corner. Zayn then tags in and hits a double ax handle off the middle rope as Jey holds Bálor in place. Bálor then sends Zayn crashing into the corner and tags in McDonagh. McDonagh then delivers some kicks on Zayn in the corner, but Zayn nails McDonagh and sends him crashing into the top turnbuckle face first. McDonagh then hits another Hammer and Anvil elbow on Zayn’s head and nails Jey on the apron, but Zayn sends McDonagh crashing to the outside. Zayn then sends Bálor out to join McDonagh and hits a springboard moonsault on them off the ropes. Dominik then looks to hit Zayn, but the referee catches him. As the referee yells at Dominik, Carlito sends Zayn colliding with the ring post.
McDonagh then tags in and keeps Zayn from tagging in Jey. McDonagh then hits Zayn with a back suplex before Bálor tags in and hits an elbow on Zayn’s spine. Bálor then delivers some right hands on Zayn and delivers a Hammer and Anvil elbow, then follows it up with a shoulder on Zayn’s midsection and tags in McDonagh. McDonagh then delivers some chops on Zayn, but Zayn responds with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Jey and Bálor then tag in and Jey delivers some strikes on Bálor. Jey then hits a kick on his midsection and an enzuigiri, then follows it up with a Hip Attack on McDonagh in the corner and looks to hit one on Bálor. Bálor then sees Jey coming, but Jey hits Bálor with a crossbody off the top rope. Bálor then delivers a couple of right hands on Jey and tags in McDonagh. McDonagh then flies into the ring from the apron and argues with the referee, then tags Bálor back in. Bálor then climbs to the middle rope, but Jey nails him with a superkick. Zayn then tags in and hits an Exploder on McDonagh in the corner. Zayn then sets up for the Helluva Kick, but Dominik grabs his ankle as Carlito distracts the referee. This then opens the door for McDonagh to hit a standing Spanish Fly and go for a pin, but Zayn kicks out.
Jey then makes the blind tag in and hits a kick on McDonagh. Jey and Zayn then hit a 1D on McDonagh and go for a pin, but Bálor breaks the fall. Bálor then hits Jey with a Sling Blade, but Jey responds with a superkick. McDonagh then sends Jey’s face bouncing off the top rope and Bálor hits a missile dropkick on Jey in the corner. McDonagh then tags in and Bálor hits the Coup De Grace on Jey. McDonagh then follows it up with a moonsault and goes for a pin, but Zayn breaks the fall. McDonagh and Bálor then look to send Jey crashing into the apron, but Zayn pulls Bálor down. Zayn then hits a Helluva Kick on McDonagh and nails Bálor, Dominik and Carlito on the outside. Jey then hits the Uso Splash on McDonagh for the win.

After the match, Bron Breakker appears and blindsides Zayn with a spear as the show comes to a close.
