WWE has a good relationship with all kinds of sports now and that also includes professional boxing, which is why it was no surprise to see Terence Crawford on SmackDown last week. Crawford has now finally opened up about his appearance on last week’s show.

On the July 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes entered the ring to discuss the recent attack on him and to preview his upcoming SummerSlam opponent. During his address, Rhodes was interrupted by A-Town Down Under, with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller ambushing him and throwing him out of the ring.

In the midst of the chaos, renowned boxer Terence Crawford, who was in the audience, handed Rhodes a steel chair. Rhodes used the chair to get back in the ring and fend off his attackers, ultimately emerging victorious.

While speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour Terence Crawford talked about his experience attending WWE SmackDown in Omaha, a city he proudly represents. Crawford, a longtime wrestling fan, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, reflecting on his childhood admiration for wrestling legends like The Rock, The Undertaker, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Crawford shared that attending SmackDown and seeing the show live was a thrilling experience, particularly because he was able to share it with his children. Crawford described the event as “electrifying” and acknowledged feeling nervous but excited about the experience, especially given its significance in his hometown and the large platform of WWE.

“It was dope. Got invited to actually go to SmackDown being in Omaha. I have been a big wrestling fan for as long as I can remember. As a little kid, growing up watching WWF and watching The Rock, Undertaker Stone Cold Steve Austin. All these big wrestling stars. I always wanted to imitate the moves and the things that they did. Of course, I’m going to be supported by my city. I took my kids, they loved it. We did what we did and we make history again.”

When asked if he might consider participating in a wrestling match himself, Crawford indicated that it wasn’t something he had seriously considered yet. However, he stated that the overall experience was unforgettable and left a strong impression on him.

“I don’t know. I haven’t gotten into it that far. The experience was second to none. It was electrifying. I was nervous doing it. It was different. It was dope and a good feeling. Not only was it my hometown, but it was WWE, a big platform.”

We have also reported why WWE promoted Terence Crawford’s upcoming boxing match despite the fact it will take place on the same day as SummerSlam. Regardless, we’ll have to see if Crawford will find himself in a WWE ring again somewhere down the line.
