Kyle O’Reilly Mourns the Loss of His Beloved Dog

Kyle O’Reilly underwent neck fusion surgery in September 2022 and would finally make his return back at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view. While he is clearly happy to be working in AEW again, he had some sad news to share as he announced the loss of his beloved dog.

Kyle O’Reilly took to his Instagram and shared the news that he had to say farewell to his beloved Hank as he passed away. Despite the sadness, he finds comfort in the wonderful memories Hank provided over nearly thirteen years. Hank had been a source of solace and strength for their family, and his absence will be deeply felt.

O’Reilly reflects on how dogs are truly spiritual healers, and Hank earned his place among them. While many people believe that humans don’t deserve dogs, O’Reilly disagrees, stating that humans, like everyone else, deserve the love, comfort, laughter, and loyalty that dogs bring.

Dogs offer these gifts along with a wagging tail as an extra. O’Reilly believes that dogs might be the best part of humanity. He expresses gratitude for everything Hank gave and hopes that Hank will enjoy his new company with Shadow. Until they meet again, O’Reilly remains Hank’s loyal friend forever.

”Today we said goodbye to our dear sweet Hank as he crossed the rainbow bridge. As heartbreaking as it is, I can’t help but smile at the amazing and joyous memories he’s given us. For almost thirteen years he’s been a source of comfort and strength for our family and it won’t be the same without him. Dogs really are spiritual healers and Hankie-poo earned his wings. Many say “we don’t deserve dogs” and while it’s hard to argue I have to disagree. Humans deserve dogs just like we deserve love, comfort, laughter, loyalty and a belly to rub. Dogs give us all of those things with a wagging tail as bonus. I think dogs might be the best part of humanity.

Thanks for everything, Hank. Give Shadow’s butt a sniff—you guys will be fast friends. Until we cuddle again.
