Professional wrestling often runs in families, with many longstanding dynasties in the industry. The Von Erichs are one such family, remaining active in wrestling today. Interestingly, Kevin Von Erich has revealed that his sons are still negotiating with other companies for a potential deal, despite their recent appearances in AEW.

For those who were not aware, the Von Erichs made their return to AEW on the July 20th episode of AEW Collision. The legendary Kevin Von Erich, alongside his sons Marshall and Ross Von Erich, were paired up with Dustin Rhodes. During the latest set of ROH television tapings, Ross Von Erich & Marshall Von Erich also defeated Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds).

It is to be noted that the Von Erichs are set to be a part of AEW’s Path to All In Summer Series. Speaking on Third League Radio ahead of the July 20th episode of AEW Collision, Kevin Von Erich talked about his sons’ involvement with AEW, particularly in their shows in Arlington, Texas.

“We’ve got a show for AEW. It’s this new wrestling company that’s cutting edge. My sons love it. I’m for all the businesses, WWE, AEW, and all the new companies coming up, I want them all to do well. But I especially have a good feeling about AEW. These guys are sharp, they’re smart, and they’re experienced. They know what they’re doing, and I like the feel of it. So we’re looking forward to it.”

Kevin Von Erich was asked about the possibility of The Von Erichs appearing at ROH Death Before Dishonor. He expressed uncertainty about what details he could reveal but mentioned that his sons were currently in negotiations with various companies. Kevin noted that while he has a positive view of AEW, including their approach and catering, he remains open to all options. The final decision will depend on his sons’ choices, and the outcome is yet to be determined.

“I don’t know what I can say or can’t say. I know they are in negotiations right now. They’re talking to different people. I know that it’s a great day, and great days are coming. I love the AEW mentality and the way they are, and they’ve got great catering, too [laughs]. WWE, them too, nothing against them, but I really like AEW. That’s kind of where I’m leaning right now, but it’s up to the boys, so we’ll just see. We’ll find out.”

Kevin Von Erich even delivered the Iron Claw to Katsuyori Shibata during the ROH television tapings. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see whether the Von Erichs will sign a long-term deal with AEW or if they will choose another company.
