The Wyatt Sicks made their highly anticipated WWE debut on the June 17 edition of Monday Night RAW and in the weeks since then, fans have been given a deeper look into each of the characters. Last week, Erick Rowan got up close and personal with a VHS tape segment and now the backstage reaction to the segment has been revealed.
During the July 15 episode of WWE RAW, in a deeply emotional segment, Erick Rowan reflected on the importance of family and how their unwavering support was a cornerstone of his life. He then revealed how everything changed with the loss of his brother, describing the impact as a blow that left him reeling, stating, “It knocked me on my ass, I’m not gonna lie.”
Rowan, who experienced the loss of Brodie Lee and Bray Wyatt in quick succession, expressed his profound grief over the passing of his second brother, breaking down in tears on camera. His promo was raw and heartfelt as he spoke about feeling as if he had lost all sense of family and purpose, saying, “I fell down a well and I couldn’t get up. I didn’t want to get up. Why? Why would I get up?”
In his moment of despair, Rowan questioned his own significance, pondering who would miss him since he felt like “just Rowan.” Uncle Howdy, sensing Rowan’s anguish, offered him his old white sheep mask, which Rowan described as a beacon of hope. “It gave me hope. When I was at my lowest, he reached out to me, and he pulled me up,” Rowan said, talking about the mask’s role in lifting him from his darkest moments.
While speaking on the Backstage Report podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the backstage reception to the Wyatt Sicks segment on RAW last week. It was noted that everyone spoke very highly of Erick Rowan’s interview.
“It was a, “that’s cool, let’s see what happens with the bell rings.” Everyone spoke highly of the Rowan interview, all of them.”
To add to this, Bo Dallas was even featured in local newspaper after his appearance on RAW. Nonetheless, it is very clear that WWE has big plans for the faction, so we’ll have to see how they develop in the coming weeks.
