The recent unexpected releases of several superstars from the AEW roster shocked many fans since even Anthony Henry was let go. He was hired back by Tony Khan and he made his in-ring return alongside JD Drake earlier this year but it appears Drake is out of action due to injury.
During the May 16th ROH television tapings, Anthony Henry paired up with his partner JD Drake as they squared off against Serpentico & Angelico. Henry and Drake were victorious in their match, much to the delight of fans.
They would have a couple more matches, their latest being on the May 30th edition of Collision, where the Workhorsemen faced off against Daniel Garcia and Katsuyori Shibata, where JD Drake and Henry lost and they haven’t competed since then.
Anthony Henry took to Twitter and revealed that the Workhorsemen are currently away from AEW television due to the fact that JD Drake ended up suffering a torn ligament in his foot.
”For those wondering… the #workhorsemen will be back soon enough. Our first match back on Collision, @RealDrake , unfortunately tore a ligament in his foot. 2024 hasn’t been kind to us.”
2024 has been a very unfortunate year for AEW when it comes to injuries, as the likes of Skye Blue, Riho and many others are currently out of action because of injuries. Regardless, we hope JD Drake makes a full recovery and returns as soon as possible.
