AEW stars endure a lot of punishment in the ring. Now, it appears that Jay White is really out of action with an unfortunate injury.
Interim AEW Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels stripped Jay White and The Gunns of both the AEW Trios and ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships. White is currently off television, selling injuries from a Christian Cage-led attack. It appears those injuries are legit.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Jay White’s injury is real, according to AEW sources. No official diagnosis has been reported regarding the severity of his injury.
Bullet Club Gold pushed back on this decision, citing the Freebird Rule, which allows any members of a faction to defend tag or trios titles. However, Daniels did not permit Juice Robinson to step in for White. This led to new champions being crowned during the July 20 episode of AEW Collision.
During this week’s Collision, The Patriarchy, consisting of Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne, captured the AEW Trios Championships by defeating the Bang Bang Gang.
