Joe Hendry has already started a feud with another group of NXT stars, as he clashed with Gallus, and then he showed up on commentary the next week. Although he didn’t win the TNA Wrestling World Title at Slammiversary, Hendry is far from finished. He has been in the game for a long time and even had an interesting experience in front of CM Punk and Paul Heyman early in his career.
NXT fans have seen Joe Hendry on Tuesday nights, but CM Punk was present at his very first tryout. In an intriguing piece of Hendry’s history, the iconic TNA Wrestling star explained the behind-the-scenes details of his past WWE tryout.
Proving himself was only half the battle, as he secured an invite to a WWE tryout with an interesting crowd of observers. Joe Hendry spoke to Chris Jericho on Talk is Jericho about getting to America and navigating the challenges of getting in front of the right people in wrestling.
“My first match outside of my training school was in an empty arena, but it was in front of CM Punk, Paul Heyman, Fit Finlay, William Regal, Big Show, and I’ve never had a match outside my training school. I’m so glad there’s no footage of this!”
Joe Hendry is one of the popular members of the TNA Wrestling roster. He is also not finished with NXT, as he made his message clear. Now, we will have to see where he shows up because it appears that all bets are off since fans “believe in Joe Hendry.”
