The Patriarchy, consisting of Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne, captured the AEW Trios Championships on the July 20th episode of AEW Collision, defeating the Bang Bang Gang (Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, & Juice Robinson).

In the climactic finish, Mama Wayne intervened by spraying Juice Robinson with hairspray, which set up Christian Cage to execute his finishing move, the Killswitch, and secure the victory for his team.

This victory marks the first reign as AEW Trios Champions for The Patriarchy. Notably, it is also the first title Nick Wayne has held in AEW. Killswitch brings his experience as a former AEW Tag Team Champion and AEW TNT Champion to the group, while Christian Cage has multiple reigns as AEW TNT Champion under his belt.

Previously, on the July 14th episode of AEW Collision, the Bang Bang Gang were stripped of the AEW Trios Championships by Christopher Daniels. Daniels declared that Juice Robinson was not permitted to replace Jay White as a defending champion, leading to the title being vacated and subsequently won by The Patriarchy.
