Rey Mysterio is a revered legend in the professional wrestling world and he has accomplished just about everything a pro wrestler would want in their career. With that said, he is set to compete in his first World Title match in a year.

WWE unveiled its highly anticipated return to Japan with a trio of live shows slated for this July. Kicking off the series, the inaugural event will light up the Edion Arena in Osaka on Thursday, July 25. Following this, WWE Superstars will grace the Tokyo stage for the first time since 2019, treating fans to back-to-back shows at the Ryogoku Arena on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27.

Rey Mysterio is set to challenge Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the July 27th WWE Live Event in Tokyo, Japan.

This marks Mysterio’s first match for a World Championship since he challenged Roman Reigns during a July 22nd, 2023 WWE Live Event for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

This is certainly a big deal for the Master of the 619, who continues to show that age is simply a number as he still moves quite well in the ring. Regardless, we’ll have to see how Mysterio will fare against Damian Priest.
