Nic Nemeth Wins TNA World Champion Title at Slammiversary 2024

The stage was set at TNA Wrestling’s Slammiversary event for the main event, but Moose had quite a battle ahead of him if he wanted to retain his title.

The main event featured a six-man elimination match for the TNA World Championship. Moose defended his title against Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Nic Nemeth, Frankie Kazarian, and Joe Hendry.

Josh Alexander, a two-time TNA World Champion, wanted to reclaim the title he never really lost. Steve Maclin brought his aggressive style to the match. Nic Nemeth, known for his nearly two-decade run as Dolph Ziggler in WWE, aimed to make his mark on the company. Frankie Kazarian relied on his experience and strategy, while Joe Hendry hoped to capitalize on his recent appearances on WWE NXT.

Fans had already seen a couple of titles change hands during Slammiversary. The X-Division Title went to “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and ABC clinched the TNA Tag Team Titles from The System. The main event came down to Moose needing to retain his title to keep more gold in his faction.

Steve Maclin was the first to get eliminated when Moose nailed him with a spear for the pinfall. The crowd sang “Na Na Na Goodbye” to Maclin, who responded with double middle fingers as he left the ramp.

Joe Hendry then nailed Moose with a Standing Ovation, eliminating him and guaranteeing a new champion. Huge “We Believe” chants erupted from the crowd. Right after, Josh Alexander hit Hendry with a low blow and a C4 to eliminate him. The fans did not like this, and “Bullsh*t” chants rang out.

Nic Nemeth later nailed Josh Alexander with a superkick to eliminate him. The fans were happy to see the Walking Weapon go, as he played the heel during the match. It came down to Frankie Kazarian and Nic Nemeth, and fans were on the edge of their seats watching them go back and forth.

In the end, Nic Nemeth nailed a Superkick and a Danger Zone to win the match. The former Dolph Ziggler is now the TNA World Champion. The Slammiversary show ended with the Show Off celebrating with the TNA roster who joined him in the ring.

Slammiversary was a big night, full of surprises, right up until the main event. We’ll have to see how the company follows up on this momentum, as they should be proud of producing a solid pay-per-view event.
