Matt Hardy made his return to TNA at the Rebellion pay-per-view after his AEW contract expired and he has been part of TNA television since then. The same happened with Jeff Hardy who returned to TNA at Against All Odds. They are bonafide TNA talent but aren’t under contract and that’s why Matt Hardy has addressed him and his brother returning to WWE.
The partnership between WWE and TNA is making waves in wrestling. Both promotions are frequently swapping talent, and at TNA Slammiversary, three NXT wrestlers—Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights, and Myles Borne—will team up to take on The Rascalz (Wes Lee, Zachary Wentz, and Trey Miguel) in six-man tag match. Wentz and Miguel also recently appeared on WWE NXT on July 16 and there will be more appearances in the future.
While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, Matt Hardy was asked about the Hardy Boys making their return to WWE. Matt Hardy noted that he and Jeff Hardy have not won the NXT Tag Team Titles and are interested in pursuing the titles as part of WWE’s collaboration with TNA.
“In wrestling never say never, and I will say that the NXT Tag Team titles are not on our list of titles that we’ve won, so we are interested in that. And I think this crossover between NXT and TNA’s great. It’s exciting, it’s unpredictable, and I think that’s a positive for the business and the industry.”
Jeff Hardy also made it clear he wants to rebuild himself, so we will have to wait and see whether The Hardys will end up having one final run in WWE somewhere down the line before retiring.
