Cody Rhodes accepted Solo Sikoa’s challenge for an Undisputed WWE Title match at SummerSlam last week and felt the wrath of his Bloodline, who beat him and his long-time friend, Randy Orton, down in a heinous assault.
After their SummerSlam match was made official earlier this week, The American Nightmare arrived on the July 19 edition of Friday Night SmackDown to address the attack and his opponent for the Biggest Party of the Summer.
Cody Rhodes began by reflecting on the influence of Randy Orton on his career and revealed his guilt at watching Orton put through a table by The Bloodline last week. He then turned his attention to Solo Sikoa, remiscenting on their past history ahead of their upcoming title clash at SummerSlam.
However, at that moment, Rhodes was interrupted by the arrival of A-Town Down Under. Following a blame game with him, both Austin Theory and Grayson Waller attacked and threw him out of the ring. At that point, popular boxer Terence Crawford, who was in attendance, handed him his steel chair, and Rhodes entered the ring back to fend them off with the attack, standing tall.
What are your thoughts on Terrance Crawford assisting Cody Rhodes in fending off the double-team attack by Austin Theory and Grayson Waller? Sound off in the comments!
