Joe Hendry is undoubtedly one of the most popular stars in all of professional wrestling right now and it was not an overnight success, as he worked hard to reach his current level of stardom. Due to his superstardom, it appears there is a backstage push in TNA to put the world title on him now.

The 20th edition of Slammiversary is set to take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the 4,100-seat Verdun Auditorium on Saturday, July 20th and there are lots of matches fans can look forward to at the show.

Joe Hendry is gearing up for a major opportunity at TNA Slammiversary, where he’ll compete in a six-man elimination match for the TNA World Heavyweight Title currently held by Moose. His competitors include Frankie Kazarian, Nic Nemeth, Steve Maclin, and Josh Alexander and he is certainly the underdog in the match at the moment.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that there is a significant push within TNA to put the World Championship on Joe Hendry, something that fans would certainly love.

Joe Hendry has already mentioned that he plans to call out John Cena for a match if he wins the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether Joe Hendry will end up becoming the new TNA World Champion once Slammiversary concludes.
