TNA has undergone substantial changes since returning to its roots with the Hard to Kill pay-per-view in January. With expansion in mind, many believed TNA’s Bound for Glory event would go international. We now have an update regarding the event’s venue.
TNA’s next pay-per-view event is the 20th edition of Slammiversary, set to take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the 4,100-seat Verdun Auditorium on Saturday, July 20th. While Slammiversary is one of TNA’s biggest events of the year, fans are eagerly anticipating Bound for Glory as well.
Rumors have circulated suggesting that Bound for Glory could be held internationally, notably in Europe, or in New York City. PWInsider reports that considerable discussion has taken place about hosting Bound for Glory in either the UK or NYC. TNA had previously considered using the Hammerstein Ballroom for Rebellion before deciding to return to Las Vegas. According to sources at Hammerstein, there are currently no wrestling events scheduled for the venue.
“There’s been a lot of talk about Bound for Glory being held in the UK or in NYC. TNA had looked into running the Hammerstein Ballroom for Rebellion before the decision was made to go back to Las Vegas. In speaking to sources at Hammerstein, they don’t have any wrestling events slated for the venue currently.”
The last time TNA held a pay-per-view outside of North America was in 2014 for Bound for Glory in Tokyo, Japan. Recently, TNA hosted their Rebellion event in Las Vegas, Nevada, and their annual Slammiversary pay-per-view is scheduled for July 20th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the final decision on the venue for Bound for Glory. Will TNA take the event abroad, or will it stay stateside? Stay tuned to Ringside News for more updates on this highly anticipated event.
