WWE released an array of highly talented and world-class in-ring competitors earlier this year, some of them which shocked the WWE Universe who did not see it coming. However, now, multiple ex-stars are entering free agency with the end of their 90-day non-compete clause.

Raj Dhesi, formerly known as Jinder Mahal and a former WWE Champion, is the most high-profile wrestler to enter free agency recently and is set to make his debut for Black Label Pro Wrestling on July 26. Veer Mahaan, who fans eagerly anticipated on Monday Night Raw, was also released. Sanga, the last member of Indus Sher, similarly exited WWE. Both had their final appearances in the 2024 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, where they were eliminated by the Creed Brothers.

Former NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes also found himself among the released talents. He has a rich pre-WWE history, having competed in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, OMEGA Wrestling, and TNA Wrestling.

From the women’s division, Chinese wrestling star Xia Li was released in April despite having a high-profile feud with Becky Lynch in 2023. She is now set to make her MMA debut for Combat Night on August 3. Xyon Quinn, a former rugby player who signed with WWE in 2018, saw his WWE career end after a quick defeat to Bron Breakker on SmackDown.

Finally, Von Wagner, initially seen as a rising star with the launch of NXT’s previous incarnation, 2.0, saw the end of his tenure this past April. The son of WWE alum Beau Beverly, Wagner’s final match resulted in a loss to Lexis King. With WWE letting go of multiple talented stars, we will have to wait and see how their journeys take place outside the global juggernaut.
