Goldberg is certainly a legend in the pro wrestling business, especially after making a name for himself during WCW, especially thanks to his undefeated streak. While it was eventually broken, Hulk Hogan believes the streak never should have ended.

The WWE Hall of Famer is also known for the greatest streak in WCW, as his undefeated streak made him one of the biggest stars in the industry during the 90s for good reason.

Notably, Goldberg defeated Hogan at the Georgia Dome in 1998 to win the WCW World Heavyweight Title. Goldberg’s undefeated streak eventually ended later that year when Kevin Nash defeated him, following an attack with a cattle prod by Scott Hall.

While speaking in an interview with SportsKeeda, Hogan talked about the decline of WCW and the decision by Turner/AOL to move away from wrestling. He praised Goldberg, comparing him to himself in terms of drawing power.

Hogan emphasized that Goldberg, as a unique and dominant figure in wrestling, should have remained undefeated. He suggested that keeping Goldberg’s streak intact might have helped maintain revenue and interest, but acknowledged that decisions made by those in charge at the time affected the outcome.

“You could say, ‘Well, Goldberg should have never been beat. He was an attraction. From the movie industry to the entertainment industry, a lot of Jewish people were probably upset because this was the first time we ever had a 300-pound T-Rex killer. He was the second coming of Hulk Hogan as far as an attraction went.

I think Goldberg should have still been undefeated. That might have been one of the things that would have kept the revenue stream coming in, but decisions were made, and different people were in control of the pie.”

In the meantime, Goldberg also admitted he has no idea who his retirement opponent should be. Even then, many fans might agree with what Hulk Hogan had to say when it comes to Goldberg’s undefeated streak ending in WCW, as it negatively impacted the company.
