Belief Grows That Zelina Vega is Held Back in WWE Due to Glaring Issue

Zelina Vega’s triumphant return to the WWE in 2022 was met with enthusiasm from fans worldwide, marking a significant resurgence in her career. However, she has yet to reach the top of the mountain in WWE and some believe she is being held back for one major reason.

Zelina Vega has not seen a great deal of success for the past year or so. Vega recently challenged Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship on an episode of RAW but came up short. She had previously challenged Rhea Ripley for the same title at Backlash last year, only to be defeated.

On the July 15 edition of RAW, Zelina Vega was brutally attacked by Shayna Baszler during her match with Sonya Deville, resulting in another injury and prompting her to reflect on her position as a WWE superstar. Following this, Vega took to Twitter to express her frustration with the idea that her height is a limitation, revealing her desire to prove herself despite these challenges.

“All my life, I’ve heard that my height holds me back. Today is no different. But there’s just so much you can prove here and there. I’ve gotten to touch the ball but never actually hold it. Give. me. the. ball. If I drop it F**K me, I’ll fall back..but I’m ready to settle this.”

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about how Vega’s small stature could be a significant challenge for her, especially when competing against top stars in the women’s division. He suggested that WWE higher-ups might be concerned about this, leading to inconsistent pushes for her.

“Zelina is a very tiny woman in stature. When you’re that small, your physicality can only look so real, and I think that’s where the problem lies. How are we going to get Zelina in a ring with the real deal main-eventers in the women’s division? … Zelina has an amazing look. She’s doing so much better on the microphone, she has a commanding presence, but once the bell rings, I think that’s where the WWE might be concerned, and that’s where they hit the gas. Then they hit the brakes, and then they hit the gas and then they hit the brakes.”

Only time will tell whether Zelina Vega will end up becoming a World Champion in WWE, as that may not be happening anytime soon despite the fact that she has shown vast improvements in the past couple of years.
