Ric Flair Compares MJF to Himself Following AEW Title Victory on 7/17 Dynamite

The highly anticipated bout between MJF and Will Ospreay opened AEW’s 250th episode, thrilling the crowd eager to witness the dream match. The bout was filled with intense action, high spots, and crowd interactions.

MJF employed relentless submission holds to wear down The Aerial Assassin, while both paid homage to wrestling legends, with MJF mimicking Rick Rude and Ospreay channelling the 16-time World Champion, Ric Flair, who had some words for the winner of the bout.

Towards the end of the bout, with less than a minute left, Will Ospreay hesitated before a Tiger Driver 96, allowing MJF to shove him into the referee. MJF then used his Dynamite Diamond ring to knock Ospreay down and secure the pinfall victory, which lasted one second, becoming the new champion.

Following his monumental win, Ric Flair took to his Instagram to post a collage of himself and MJF with championship belts, labelling him a great mind and talent much like The Nature Boy himself.

With this monumental win, MJF begins a new chapter in his career as the AEW International Champion, so it will be interesting to see who will be the first challenger to step up to The Salt of the Earth.
