Joe Hendry Plans to Call Out John Cena for A Match After TNA Title Win at Slammiversary

Several stars in Impact Wrestling have been gaining significant momentum, including Joe Hendry. His rise in the industry has made believers out of many. Hendry has now made it clear that he plans to call out John Cena for a match if he wins the Impact Wrestling Championship at Slammiversary.

In case you didn’t know, John Cena confirmed that he would be retiring from in-ring competition in December 2025, so fans have been wondering which professional wrestlers he will face as part of his retirement tour.

Joe Hendry is gearing up for a major opportunity at TNA Slammiversary, where he’ll compete in a six-man elimination match for the TNA World Heavyweight Title currently held by Moose. His competitors include Frankie Kazarian, Nic Nemeth, Steve Maclin, and Josh Alexander.

While speaking with Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho, Joe Hendry confidently declared his intention to win the championship and outlined his plans for a post-match statement. Hendry intends to raise the title, address John Cena, and challenge him to “cross the line,” implying a bold move or confrontation.

“I have a world championship match at Slammiversary. I’m going to be in the main event. This is insane. I couldn’t get on a pay-per-view four months. Now, I’m in the main event for the world title at Slammiversary. I’ll tell you this now. If — when I win the title, I’m going to raise the title above my head, I’m going to take the microphone, and I’m going to say, ‘John Cena, you’ve done everything in this business. Almost, everything. If you want to cross the line…’ That’s what is going to happen.”

With Cena set to retire in December 2025, there is still ample time for their paths to cross in the ring. We’ll have to wait and see if this highly anticipated showdown becomes a reality.
