Darby Allin seems to thrive on taking punishment. Earlier this year, he sustained a foot injury and was in recovery. Recently, Allin has shared the motivation behind his daring and extreme stunts.

The former TNT Champion has a reputation as a risk-taker, particularly in his time with AEW. He reflected on memorable moments like falling off a ladder into glass at AEW Revolution and being hung upside down and superkicked with a shoe covered in thumbtacks at Double or Nothing.

While speaking with the Friday Night Fights podcast, Darby Allin talked about the physical challenges he embraces in wrestling compared to his previous jobs.

Allin mentioned working as a dishwasher and at a 99-cent store, expressing that he would prefer enduring physical pain like getting kicked with thumbtack-covered shoes over the mental strain of those past jobs any day. He emphasized his gratitude for being in wrestling and not taking any of his experiences for granted.

“Honestly, growing up, I was a dishwasher. I worked at the 99-cent store. I’ll tell you right now, I’d rather get kicked in the face with thumbtack-superglued shoes than ever work as a dishwasher again. I don’t take any of it for granted. I’d rather go through the physical pain than the mental pain any day.”

Darby Allin also foiled The Elite’s plans on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite as he will be competing in the Blood & Guts match against The Elite next week, so it is for certain he will pull off some insane stunts during the match.
