World Title Match Official for WWE SummerSlam

The heated rivalry between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline will continue at WWE SummerSlam.

The promotion officially announced on X Wednesday that Rhodes will defend his title against the faction’s leader, Solo Sikoa. The American Nightmare agreed to the match at the end of the July 12 edition of SmackDown.

Right after the challenge was accepted by Cody Rhodes, a brawl then ensued, and the Bloodline members had the numbers game advantage over him in the attack. Rhodes’ ally and long-time friend, Randy Orton, attempted to assist him but was put through a table as Rhodes was forced to watch. Following their heinous assault, Cody was seen helping Orton to the back.

At this month’s Money in the Bank, Solo Sikoa pinned Rhodes in a trios bout, setting the stage for their upcoming match. The duo have faced each other several times since March 2023, including on RAW in March 2023 and SmackDown in June 2024.

While Sikoa has yet to secure a victory over Rhodes, we will have to wait and see if his newfound demeanour as the “Tribal Chief” and his Bloodline could help him secure the win at SummerSlam and bring the title back to his family. Here is the updated line-up for WWE SummerSlam 2024, set to take place on Saturday, August 3rd, from Cleveland, Ohio’s Browns Stadium:
