Ric Flair, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer with 16 World Title reigns, has spoken about the possibility of his record being broken. As time goes on, others may chip away at his goal, and John Cena is very close to making that happen.

Flair is very proud of his daughter, Charlotte, and he would love to see her break his title record. That being said, John Cena is also at 16 reigns right now and may break Flair’s record during his retirement tour.

On Twitter, Ric Flair made it clear that he wouldn’t mind seeing his record broken. While Charlotte Flair is his preferred choice, he would be okay with Cena doing the honors instead.

“There has been way too much attention brought to this. Let’s just set the record straight for the final time. My first choice would obviously be The Queen @MsCharlotteWWE. I think the world of my friend @JohnCena, who is an incredible athlete & genuine person! I will be the first person to shake his hand & congratulate him if he breaks my record as I would for anybody who would break it. When that day comes, it will be an honor! WOOOOO!”

John Cena will make 30 to 40 more appearances on the road to his retirement at WrestleMania 41. We’ll have to see if a title run is in the cards for him, but he may not pass up such an opportunity if given the chance. It would also be a historic moment for WWE fans to witness. There are already betting odds for Cena’s final opponent.

Ric Flair recently departed from AEW, making him a free agent. Only time will tell if Flair returns to WWE, but given his history with Triple H, it could be an interesting year in WWE history.
