Ric Flair has achieved significant milestones in his career, including 16 World Title reigns and two WWE Hall of Fame rings. Despite his accomplishments, Flair was not included in ESPN’s list of the 100 greatest athletes of the 21st century, a decision that he publicly criticized.

ESPN compiled this list, which features athletes across various sports, based on votes from its experts. These lists often generate controversy and debate regarding the inclusions and rankings of certain athletes.

Pat McAfee voiced his criticism of ESPN’s list on his TV show, which airs on the network. Flair, one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling, also expressed his displeasure on Twitter.

“How In The Hell On God’s Green Earth Is Ric Flair Not Considered To Be One Of The Top 100 Athletes In The World??? I Should Actually Be In The Top 10. 16 World Titles, Actually 22. 1,200 Hour Matches, 15 Years Without A Day Off; A Cultural Icon & Worldwide Sensation. Good Lord, So Many People Have Lost Sight Of What Greatness Truly Is! I Never Pulled Out With A Calf Muscle Strain. Oh How The Times Have Changed! What A Bunch Of Bitches! I Get Tom Brady And All That, But Come On Let’s Get Serious!”

Flair’s numerous accolades arguably warrant more recognition. While ESPN has not yet addressed his exclusion, there is speculation about whether they might consider an honorable mention for him in the future.

Flair recently parted ways with AEW after his contract expired, having been involved in several storylines, including those featuring his son-in-law, Andrade. With Andrade now back in WWE, there is a possibility that Flair might follow. WWE would likely celebrate his legacy more than ESPN’s list did.
