Triple H has been at the forefront of the growth of WWE over the past couple of years as the Head of Creative, as the company is clearly doing the best it has ever done before. With that said, Bret Hart has made it clear he isn’t a fan of Triple H and called him out over the years and now Eric Bischoff has called out Hart for his recent comments about Triple H.
Bret Hart is a wrestler who has created controversy with his views, which haven’t always been received positively. While some might presume that Bret harbors resentment over certain aspects of his wrestling career, he has clarified that he merely articulates his opinions and acknowledges that not everyone will agree with him. Even then, a lot of people view him as a bitter old man even now.
While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff was asked about Bret Hart always going after him and WCW. Eric Bischoff addressed Bret Hart recently criticizing Triple H, believing Triple H wasn’t the right person for his position in WWE despite the success achieved under his direction.
Bischoff implied that in Hart’s mind, he should be in that spot instead of Levesque. Although Hart didn’t explicitly say this, Bischoff noted that Hart views himself as the most knowledgeable, talented, and smart individual in the professional wrestling business, considering everyone else to be in over their heads. Bischoff expressed that Bret Hart is unlikely to change his perspective. He wished Hart would change, not because he personally cares, but for Hart’s own sake.
“He just recently criticized Paul Levesque, didn’t think Paul Levesque was the right guy for the spot in WWE despite everything that Paul is doing and the success that they’ve had under his reign and direction. But in Bret’s mind, Paul shouldn’t be in that spot; Bret should be. He didn’t say that, of course, but nobody is as smart, as talented, or as knowledgeable about the professional wrestling business as Bret Hart. Everybody else is in over their head.
As is Bret, he’s never going to change, unfortunately. I wish he would for his sake—I don’t really give a s***—but for his sake, I wish he would.”
Bret Hart even previously stated that Triple H is only remembered because he is Vince McMahon’s son-in-law. Nevertheless, Bret Hart will continue to harbor negative feelings towards many pro wrestlers and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
