It’s Tuesday night and you know what that means! WWE NXT will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the July 16, 2024 episode.

WWE NXT Results (7/16/2024):

The show opens up with The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee) cutting a promo to hype up their upcoming match. We then see Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) cutting a promo in the hallways to hype up their upcoming match against The Rascalz.

Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to the show as The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee) make their way down to the ring for the opening matchup. Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) then make their way down to the ring next.

6-Man Tag Team Match: The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee) vs. Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang)

The match starts off with Trey Miguel and Mark Coffey. Mark sends Miguel across the ring, but Miguel sends Mark’s arm bouncing off the top rope and hits him with a hurricanrana. Wentz then tags in and double teams Mark with Miguel. Wolfgang then tags in and nails Wentz with an uppercut. Wolfgang then delivers some stomps on Wentz, then follows it up with a suplex and goes for a pin, but Wentz kicks out. Joe Coffey then tags in and hits a right hand on Wentz’s midsection. Joe then sends Wentz into the corner, but Wentz responds with a hurricanrana off the ropes and a jumping knee. Lee then tags in and hits a head scissors on Joe. Lee then follows it up with a poisonrana and goes for a pin, but Joe kicks out.

Wolfgang then tags back in and hits an uppercut on Lee. Wolfgang then follows it up with a bodyslam and goes for a pin, but Lee kicks out. Wolfgang then sends Lee bouncing off the top rope face first and tags in Mark. Mark and Wolfgang then deliver some strikes on Lee before Wolfgang tags back in and wears down Lee. Joe then tags in and all six men start brawling with each other. Joe Hendry’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Hendry has joined the announce desk as Joe wears down Lee with a submission hold. Mark then tags in and Lee manages to tag in Wentz. Wentz then hits Joe with an enzuigiri. Wentz then climbs to the top and hits a double dropkick on Wolfgang and Mark. Miguel then tags in and he nails Mark. Miguel then goes for a pin, but Wolfgang breaks the fall. Miguel then hits Mark with a dropkick, then tags in Lee. Wentz then tags in and The Rascalz hit a variation of a triple dropkick on Mark. Miguel then hits a DDT on Mark on the outside as Wentz and Lee beat down Wolfgang and Joe inside the ring. Wentz and Lee then send Wolfgang and Joe to the outside and both fly to land on all three members of Gallus on the outside. Lee then tags in and Wentz and Miguel get Mark on their shoulders. Lee then hits a double stomp off the top and pins Mark for the win.

After the match, Joe Hendry says if Gallus believed a bit more they might have won. We then get a Joe Hendry narrated video, where Hendry recaps the events that led to him appearing on NXT last week. Hendry then says Trick Williams is the hottest star in NXT while he is the answer to all of life’s problems.

We then head to the back, where Kelly Kincaid is interviewing Chase U. Thea Hail storms off to prepare for a confrontation against WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez. Duke Hudson also leaves to prepare for his match. Andre Chase and Riley Osborne both give their support for Hudson for his upcoming match against Oba Femi.

WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez was then shown walking through the hallways. Thea Hail was about to jump her, but Hail was held back by Ridge Holland.

We then see WWE NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page in NXT General Manager Ava’s office arguing about how NXT is an unsafe working argument. Oro Mensah then barges in to argue with Page. Ava then says that Oro wasn’t in the title picture. Oro then tells Page the longer he runs, the worse it gets for him. Ava then asks Page to defend the title tonight and Page picks Dante Chen as his first opponent.

Vic Joseph then hypes up the two-week NXT Great American Bash special set to begin in a few weeks.

WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez then makes her way down to the ring to address the NXT Universe.

Roxanne Perez starts off by asking what it will take for everyone to start treating her like the champion she is. Perez then says she added another name to her resume when she defeated Lola Vice to retain her NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave. Perez then says she should have received a standing ovation rather than Vice and she is competing with the history books rather than anyone in the locker room. Perez then says Charlotte Flair had her first television match fourteen years ago and she’s on track to break all the records in the women’s division. Perez then expresses her anger with people saying that her title reign is in trouble when Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer make their NXT debuts. Perez then makes it clear that she does not see Thea Hail as a threat ahead of their title match at NXT The Great American Bash.

Thea Hail’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Hail tells Perez her issue is that she thinks everyone owes her respect when she doesn’t, then says that she used to look up to her. Hail then says she thought she and Perez weren’t that different and of all people, Perez should know what it’s like to be underestimated. Hail then says she’s overcome doubters and at Great American Bash, Perez should hand her the pen to write one of the youngest NXT Women’s Champions in history. Perez then tells Hail that it’s brave of her to come to the ring with no chaperones. Perez then says it won’t be anyone’s time as long as she holds the NXT Women’s Championship and she knows what it’s like to spiral after losing the title she holds. Perez then says the NXT Women’s Championship is for big girls rather than children. Hail then looks to nail Perez, but Perez sees her coming. Both women then begin to brawl, but Hail puts Perez in a Kimura Lock. Ridge Holland then appears and pulls Hail off of Perez as officials appear to break things up between the two women.

We then head to the back, where Kelly Kincaid is interviewing Kelani Jordan. Jordan talks about having to pull a lot of crazy moves to defend the title against Sol Ruca. Jordan then talks about looking forward to facing people like Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer. Kincaid was distracted because Wendy Choo was behind Jordan glaring ominously.

We then get a replay of Brooks Jensen’s recent incidents on NXT TV.

We then see Kelly Kincaid interview Lola Vice about her recent title opportunity. Vice talks about proving herself and how Perez had to use 4 Pop Rocks to beat her. Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Jasmyn Nyx then show up to talk trash. Jayne says Vice should go back to America’s Top Team in MMA. Jayne then says Vice should go back to fighting in MMA. Vice then says she’s a fighter and she sees her next opponent right in front of her.

We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Brooks Jensen vs. “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans

The match starts off with Jensen wasting no time in going after Evans. Jensen sends Evans crashing into the corner, but Evans responds with some right hands on Jensen and follows it up with a hurricanrana. Evans then hits a dropkick on Jensen that sends Jensen crashing out of the ring and both men brawl on the outside. Jensen then sends Evans crashing into the barricade midsection first, but Evans responds with a superkick and follows it up with a springboard moonsault. Evans then gets Jensen back in the ring and hits him with a springboard kick, then goes for a pin, but Jensen kicks out. Evans then looks to hit a splash on Jensen in the corner, but Jensen moves out of the way. Jensen then delivers some right hands on Evans, then sends him crashing into the announce desk midsection first and flies off the apron.

Jensen then wears down Evans with a crossface and looks to hit a splash on him in the corner. Evans then moves out of the way and hits a hurricanrana on Jensen off the top rope. Evans then sends Jensen crashing into the middle turnbuckle and hits him with a kick to his head, then flies off the top rope to hit Jensen with a crossbody. Jensen then hits a Styles Clash on Evans as Shawn Spears appears at ringside. Briggs then confronts Spears, but Jensen tells Briggs to back down. Evans then takes advantage and flies over the top rope to land on Jensen on the outside. Evans then gets Jensen back in the ring and hits him with a cutter off the middle rope for the win.

After the match, Jensen delivers some stomps on Evans, but Briggs pulls him off. Both men then argue as they head to the back.

We then see WWE NXT Heritage Cup Champion “The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo and The D’Angelo Family playing poker backstage. Charlie Dempsey then shows up to confront D’Angelo. D’Angelo says he never knew Dempsey had it in him to take care of Damon Kemp. Dempsey then says he was still coming for the Heritage Cup, but he needs advice. Dempsey then says there may have been a witness.

We then see Sarah Schreiber interview Dante Chen about his upcoming match. Chen says he knows “All Ego” Ethan Page sees him as an easy challenger, but when you have a moment, you have to capitalize on it.

WWE NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page was then shown walking through the halls.

We then see Trick Williams have a conversation with “The Mad Dragon” Ilja Dragunov over a video call about regaining the NXT Championship. Williams then asks “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne for some advice, but Dunne tells him to figure it out by himself.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE NXT Championship Match.

WWE NXT Championship Match: “All Ego” Ethan Page (c) vs. Dante Chen

The match starts off with Page running Chen over with a shoulder tackle and mocking him, but Chen rolls up Page. Page then kicks out and Chen delivers some strikes on him. Chen then follows it up with a thrust kick, but Page sends Chen out of the ring and hits him with a flying shoulder tackle off the apron. Page then gets Chen back in the ring and delivers some right hands on him, then follows it up with a bodyslam. Chen then hits an enzuigiri on Page, but Page sends Chen crashing onto the apron. Chen then rolls up Page, but Page kicks out. Chen then nails Page with a clothesline and a back elbow, then follows it up with an Atomic Drop. Chen then rolls up Page twice more, but Page kicks out both times. Chen then nails Page with a double chop before he looks to fly off the top. Page then sees him coming and hits Chen with a boot,, then follows it up with the Ego’s Edge for the win.

After the match, Page mockingly shakes Chen’s hand. Oro Mensah then looks to blindside Page, but Page takes him out with a DDT. Page then looks to head to the back, but Mensah stops him on the ramp and delivers some right hands on him. Mensah then hits a couple of clotheslines and a kick on Page’s head, then follows it up with a second kick on his head in the corner and pins Page to prove he can get the three count over him.

We then get a video package on Chase U’s Duke Hudson. Hudson talks about how he started out as a poker player and ended up as an MVP. Hudson then says tonight he’ll become NXT North American Champion.

We then see Gallus sulking backstage. Joe Coffey talks about Joe Hendry annoying him. Hendry appears and says it’s not his fault he is there as he said his name. Hendry then talks about how he likes it in NXT and is sticking around. Joe Coffey then says no one likes Hendry in NXT. Coffey then says when people think of Scotland in NXT, they think of Gallus or Drew McIntyre, not a flash in the pan. Hendry then says things will be better for Gallus if they just believed in the answer to all of life’s problems Joe Hendry. Hendry then leaves.

Izzi Dame then makes her way down to the ring for the next match and Tatum Paxley is already waiting inside.

Singles Match: Tatum Paxley vs. Izzi Dame

The match starts off with both women wasting no time in going after each other. Paxley hits a springboard dropkick on Dame, then follows it up with a crossbody on Dame’s spine in the corner and a kick to her head. Paxley then goes for a pin, but Dame kicks out. Paxley then looks to hit another crossbody on Dame in the corner, but Dame catches her. Dame hits a backbreaker on Paxley, then follows it up with a bodyslam and a series of stomps to her spine. Dame then sends Paxley into opposite corners, then uses the ring post to wear down her spine. Dame then hits another backbreaker on Paxley and goes for a pin, but Paxley kicks out. Dame then continues to wear down Paxley’s spine with a submission as Wendy Choo makes her way out. Paxley then hits a Dragon Screw on Dame, then follows it up with a step-up enzuigiri and sends Dame’s face bouncing off her knee. Paxley then follows it up with an elbow drop and goes for a pin, but Dame kicks out. Dame then charges at Paxley in the corner, but Paxley moves out of the way. Paxley then follows it up with the Psycho Trap for the win.

After the match, Choo hands a doll over to Paxley. Paxley then puts its head on and takes the doll from Choo.

We then head to the back, where Ridge Holland was coaching Thea Hail, telling her not to cost herself her title shot. Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne and Andre Chase then shows up. Hudson teases feeling disrespected with Holland not supporting him. Hudson then jokes that it was fine. Ridge Holland then wishes Hudson luck in his upcoming match and Chase U did a group cheer.

We then see Cedric Alexander having a conversation with Ashante “Thee” Adonis about having new opportunities in NXT. Ashante was distracted and hit on Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson. Adonis says it’s not “Chase U” it’s “Chase Me”. Adonis then says he was checking on Jakara Jackson. Oro Mensah then shows up to have Jakara’s back. Adonis then says he wants to show Jackson who the hottest attraction in NXT is. Lash and Oro then drags Jakara away. Cedric then tells Ashante that he likes to get into trouble.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne

The match starts off with Jayne looking to hit a kick on Vice, but Vice catches it and hits Jayne with a mat return. Jayne then hits a thrust kick on Vice’s head, then follows it up with a stomp to her hand and sends her cashing into the mat face first. Jayne then begins wearing down Vice’s injured hand from her match at Heatwave against Roxanne Perez, but Vice responds with a series of rapid fire kicks on Jayne. Vice then follows it up with a Scissor Kick and a Hip Attack on Jayne, then goes for a pin, but Jayne kicks out. Jayne then hits a boot on Vice, but Vice responds with the 305 for the win.

After the match, Fallon Henley blindsides Vice. Nyx then joins her, but Vice fights them off. Jayne then nails Vice from behind, but Sol Ruca and Karmen Petrovic make their way down to the ring to even the odds.

We then see WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan confront Tatum Paxley backstage. Jordan says Wendy Choo was looking for her doll that Tatum was playing with. Paxley then says it is her doll and she wants to know if Jordan wants to play. Jordan then says they are too old to be playing with dolls and Jordan leaves. Paxley then drops the caucasian doll to pick up a dark skinned doll.

We then see WWE NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page backstage. Page talks about Oro Mensah almost ruining his night, just like the interviewer is about to do. Page then stresses that Oro Mensah didn’t legally pin him.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a 6-Person Mixed Tag Team Match.

6-Person Mixed Tag Team Match: OTM (Bronco Nima, Lucien Price and Jaida Parker) vs. The O.C. (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Michin)

The match starts off with both teams wasting no time in going after each other. They begin brawling with each other and Michin and Jaida Parker are left alone in the ring. Parker sends Michin crashing into the ring post shoulder first. Parker then drapes Michin across the middle turnbuckle and hits her with a chop, then looks to hit a senton on her. Michin then moves out of the way, but Parker is still able to hit a spinebuster on her. Michin then hits Parker with a German suplex and a dropkick. Lucien Price and Luke Gallows then tag in. Gallows then delivers some right hands on Price, then blasts him with a boot. Price then hits a chokeslam on Gallows and a boot on Karl Anderson. Price then hits a splash on Gallows in the corner, then tags in Bronco Nima.

Nima then hits a running knee to the back of Gallows’ neck, then tags Price back in. Price then hits an uppercut on Gallows, then delivers some shoulders on his midsection in the corner. Nima then tags in and hits a strike on Gallows, then nails Anderson on the apron. Gallows then tags in and sends Price crashing into the mat. Michin and Parker then tag in and Michin delivers some strikes on Parker. Michin then hits a dropkick on Parker and sends her crashing into the mat, then nails her with the Sole Food and goes for a pin. Parker then kicks out. Anderson and Nima then tag in and Nima sends Anderson into the corner. Anderson then flies off the middle rope and hits a neckbreaker on Nima. Gallows then tags in and double teams Nima with Anderson. Gallows then goes for a pin, but Price breaks the fall. Anderson then nails Price with a spinebuster, but Parker responds with a Hip Attack. Michin then sends Parker out of the ring and hits the Eat Defat on Nima. This then opens the door for Gallows and Anderson to hit the Magic Killer on Nima for the win.

We then head to the back and we see No Quarter Catch Crew encounter Wren Sinclair looking to join the group, threatening to tell everyone what they did to Damon Kemp last week after she caught them taking care of business.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is a WWE NXT North American Championship Match.

WWE NXT North American Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Chase U’s Duke Hudson

The match starts off with Femi hitting a back elbow on Hudson, then wearing him down with a submission hold. Hudson then escapes and Femi nails him with an uppercut. Femi then follows it up with a shoulder tackle. Hudson then takes off his headband and Chase U shirt, then hits a hurricanrana and a shoulder tackle on Femi. Hudson then follows it up with a DDT and clotheslines Femi out of the ring. Femi then wears Hudson down with a submission hold and hits a running knee to the side of his head. Femi then sends Hudson into the corner, then hits him with a Sidewalk Slam and goes for a pin. Hudson then kicks out and hits a jawbreaker on Femi. Femi then nails Hudson with a couple of backbreakers and goes for another pin, but Hudson kicks out. Femi then gets Hudson up on his shoulders and sends him crashing into the top turnbuckle face first. Femi then looks to send Hudson crashing into the mat, but Hudson counters into a crossbody. Femi then nails Hudson with a couple of running uppercuts in the corner, but Hudson responds with a big boot and a series of right hands. Hudson then nails Femi with a clothesline, then hits him with the Chase U right hands.

Hudson then hits a crossbody over the top rope on Femi on the outside, then gets him back in the ring and hits him with a shoulder on his midsection. Hudson then sends Femi crashing into the mat and goes for a pin, but Femi kicks out. Hudson then places Femi on the top rope and joins him, but Femi knocks Hudson down. Hudson then pulls Femi down and hits him with a reverse hurricanrana, but Femi responds with a back body drop on Hudson. Hudson then looks to roll up Femi, but Femi blocks him and hits him with a chokeslam. Femi then goes for a pin, but Hudson kicks out. Femi and Hudson then teeter on the ropes and Hudson nails Femi with a Sunset Flip. Hudson then goes for a pin, but Femi kicks out. Femi then hits a Blue Thunder Bomb on Hudson on top of the announce desk, then gets him back in the ring and hits him with a powerbomb for the win.

The winner of the match and still the WWE NXT North American Champion, Oba Femi!

We then head out to the Performance Center parking lot and see Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs still arguing about Jensen’s loss earlier tonight. As a means of proving himself, Jensen challenges Briggs to a No Disqualification Match next week and gets into a car as the show comes to a close.
