Rhea Ripley, who had to relinquish the WWE Women’s World Championship in April due to injury, made a surprising return on RAW last week that shocked fans. However, it seems that her return last week was not originally planned.
During the July 8 WWE RAW episode, Rhea Ripley surprised everyone by coming back. In the main event, Liv Morgan used a chair to distract Rey Mysterio. This helped Dominik Mysterio win with a low blow and a splash. After the match, Liv and Dominik seemed close, maybe even about to kiss.
But then Ripley’s music played suddenly, stopping the celebration. Liv hurried away through the crowd, leaving Ripley and Dominik facing each other. As the show ended, Ripley looked angry and pushed Dominik away, showing she wasn’t happy with what happened.
According to a report by PWInsider, there were initially discussions about Rhea Ripley returning to storylines either at Summerslam or the Raw right after. However, the decision was made to have her face off against Liv Morgan at Summerslam instead. Sources indicate that Ripley expressed confidence in being ready for the August event
‘We are also told that initially, there was talk of Ripley returning to storylines at Summerslam or the Raw the day after, but instead the decision was made to go with her vs. Morgan at Summerslam, in part because we are told by sources that Ripley voiced that she believed she would be good to go by the August event, one of the biggest shows of WWE’s calendar.”
We have also reported that Rhea Ripley is unlikely to wrestle until SummerSlam on August 3rd. Regardless, we will have to wait and see how Rhea Ripley will be booked on WWE television until SummerSlam next month.
