The 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada saw John Cena announce his impending retirement as a professional wrestler. In fact, his retirement tour has now been compared to that of the legendary band KISS.

During his promo, the former WWE Champion announced his plans to be present when RAW moves to Netflix. He also revealed that the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 2025 will be his final wrestling appearances.

Unlike other wrestlers who have had retirement matches, John Cena will have an entire tour featuring 100 dates in 2025. While speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash compared Cena’s final run to the high-profile farewell tour of the rock band KISS.

Nash noted that Cena’s retirement tour even made the local morning news. Reflecting on Cena’s career, Nash acknowledged Cena’s hard work and dedication, especially noting his consistent commitment to making Make-A-Wish appearances at every show he attends.

“It’s the KISS retirement tour. It made the morning news, local, that John Cena was retiring and I had seen the Money in the Bank [event] and I was like ‘alright.’ He definitely deserves it, he’s worked his ass off. And the thing about John is that he’ll make a Make-A-Wish appearance at everyone [of the shows he appears at.]

We have also reported that WWE is already considering opponents for John Cena. It remains to be seen how Cena’s retirement tour will turn out, as fans can’t wait to enjoy his last year as a pro wrestler.
