Joe Hendry has become a regular on NXT recently, surprising fans everywhere. As a breakout star in TNA Wrestling, his name recognition carried over to NXT, where his presence elicited a big pop from the crowd.
“Say his name and he’ll appear,” and it seems NXT believes in Joe Hendry. The TNA star was backstage for the July 16 episode of NXT and didn’t miss the show. Joe Hendry made his entrance during the opening contest between Gallus and The Rascalz and then joined the commentary table.
Hendry’s message was clear: you never know where he will appear next; you just need to say his name.
Fans quickly noticed Joe Hendry during the closing moments of Heatwave. He also appeared in a commercial for this week’s NXT episode, which aired during RAW. His presence was anticipated, but few expected the turn of events.
Trick Williams cut a backstage promo just after Brooks Jensen took out Je’Von Evans. Williams mentioned needing a tag team partner. Joe Hendry’s face then appeared on the screen behind him, but Williams left without noticing. In the main event, Ethan Page and Shawn Spears teamed up to face Trick Williams and a mystery partner. Fans predicted Joe Hendry’s arrival, and he did not disappoint. Hendry received a welcoming ovation from the NXT Arena and joined Williams as his partner in the main event against the two heels to get the win. This was a great spot for the standout TNA Wrestling star.
On the July 16 episode of WWE NXT, The Rascalz reunited as a trio to take on Gallus in the opening match. The trio received “Welcome Back” chants from fans who missed Zachary Wentz.
The Rascalz were known as MSK in NXT, but Trey Miguel did not join them previously. Wes Lee, formerly known as Dezmond Xavier in TNA, and Wentz, who went by Nash Carter in NXT, faced a setback when Carter’s ex shared photos of him appearing to do a Nazi salute, leading to his firing. Now, he is back in NXT, even if just for this cameo.
Although it had been a while since they were together as a trio, The Rascalz gelled seamlessly. This was a big moment for them as they hyped up the NXT Arena.
In the middle of the match, Joe Hendry joined the commentary table, delighting fans. The Rascalz closed out the match with a clean win. Joe Hendry remarked that if Gallus had believed a bit more, they might have picked up the victory.
After the match, Joe Hendry had a chance to cut a promo, recapping his appearance as Trick Williams’ tag team partner the previous week.
